will pony up to the state if “any taxes are owed,” a spokesman for the alleged tax-skipping skipper said

That's a pretty clever response. He knows the taxes aren't owed because he knows he dodged them legally. He has the means to move his assets around like that for maximum effect. The firefighter, cop, plumber, carpenter who keeps a boat for weekend/seasonal use can't do that. The little guy is the one who has to pony up. That pompous effeminate leach really makes me want to hurl.

The story changed since yesterday. Yesterday they were saying Kerry didn't owe the money as what he did to avoid the tax was perfectly legal by keeping the boat in Rhode Island. As a Democrat he's entitled to not pay taxes on fancy stuff anyhow. Right? ;-)

However, the fact that he had indeed taken the boat to Edgartown and anchored it there for however a brief moment in time, puts him on the hook for the MASS tax as their law says if it is birthed anywhere in MASS within 6mos of purchase they assume the boat will be used/kept in state and therefore subject to the tax.

The question now is whether Kerry will whine about paying the half-mil in taxes or suck it up and plunk it down knowing that any whining on his part will hurt the Democrat Party.
