Now when will the “loyal opposition” of atheists start beating on Islam’s head for a change and give the Christians a rest? It’s clear who wants to stuff agendas down people’s throats. Thing is, you probably won’t get your throat cut if you mock the bible in editorials and the like, but the odds change if you dare to address the Koran, or even worse, Mohammed himself.
And why did the Moslems choose to call it the Cordoba Initiative? Cordoba was the capital of Islamic Spain, or Al Aldalus, and for a time the capital of the Caliphate, the place whose loss Osama bin Laden still mourns and fumes over. And there is the Grand Mosque of Cordoba that still stands, in the place that was the Moslem's deepest penetration into the West.
Seems that the Moslems are big on symbolism.

Building a mosque at ground zero is every bit as obscene as opening a neo-Nazi headquarters next to the Holocaust Museum or building a Japanese Military Memorial at Pearl Harbor.
