Obama has two more years, after that these people will be hauled off to the Federal Pen.

They better fix the law now.

I don’t know that Obama will wait for that, he may see the writing on the wall and be forced to act.

Oh, I see. We shouldn’t ban alcohol per se—we should only ban drunkenness. The government should regulate the number of drinks a person may have per night. I gotcha.

I just don’t want to see California as the new source of Pot for all the other states in the US.

“...but you are high if you smoke one joint.”

Speak for yourself. Many people aren't impaired by pot at all or can function even better on it.

Some people are fine even if they smoke until their lungs collapse yet some people can barely walk after inhaling half a lung full.

Each person is unique and it should not be up to the incompetent government to decide what herbs and medicines EVERYONE can use. If anyone has to make the decision, it should be your personal doctor.

Irrelevant, we are talking about California grown Marijuana not Marijuana in general.

Disagree. The herbs and medicines that cause irrationality, brain damage, lack of inhibition, lack of judgement, comas, hallucinations, and/or withdrawal symptoms so extreme that they’d commit crimes for a fix are affecting all of us, big time.

Public drunkenness is already illegal, also private drunkenness if you are in charge of a dependent. Terrible laws in your opinion I suppose.

Suppose California voters approve Prop 19, which would make it part of the CA Constitution.

Do you think CA should have authority under the Tenth Amendment to enact the policy without interference from fedgov? Or, do you think fedgov should have authority under the Commerce Clause to shut it down?

I support states’ rights, but not piecemeal.

I wouldn’t want CA to have to right to define its own drug laws when other states can’t define their own laws against abortion, etc.

It has to be all (at least all in one category) or nothing.

Otherwise it is just agenda pushing. The state gets to define it if it’s something you like; it doesn’t get to define it if it’s something you don’t like. Ain’t no way to run a country.

Most of these problems are due to ignorant people misusing drugs by following an ignorant government-fueled drug counterculture. The rest are abandoned mentally ill people with drug records being forced to medicate with dirty street drugs that have no option but to repeat this cycle until they die violently. However, instead of being able to medicate alone with clean drugs that cost pennies, they are forced to run the street for drugs that cost more than gold and so dirty that their condition is worsened.

Blind drug laws assume all people fall into the above categories and stupidly assume laws can control those irrational people. Sadly, these classes of people did not exist before and are created/sustained by the drug war itself.

When ALL the drugs/herbs that God gave us are used with knowledge, they are capable of helping society greatly. In my research days, I knew many scientists that were able to unlock/focus their minds by safely and knowledgeably employing (highly illegal) psychadelic drugs. Several had international recognition for these discoveries.

I also know therapists that have helped thousands of stuck people through unconventional drug therapy. People that could not move on for years could be helped in a few sessions. When MDMA (Ecstasy) was legal, it was first sold under the trade name “Empathy”. When it was banned, I recall a therapist friend of mine crying because he knew it helped so many.

See my post on cannabis hemp medical research:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2554974/posts?page=25#25

The government ignorantly assumes thousands of unreaserched chemicals cause ALL people to act stupidly and lose their mind. The government routinely bans research on thousands of discovered chemicals without any scientific data other than it being a possible intoxicant. It routinely arrests scientists that choose to seek this knowledge and not respect ignorant laws.

This is worse than book burning and makes me sick.

So I take it you are against the various state challenges to Obamacare, since they are piecemeal and don't address other Tenth Amendment issues?

No, I am for them, because I am hoping for a wholesale rejection of the whole thing, especially if appealed to the Supreme Court.

The health care legislation is new this year. Drug legislation is entrenched, permeates several different law enforcement agencies, and has a long history and great support in this nation. None of this is true of the health care scam.

I can’t even take these types of assertions seriously. Believe these poisons are a boon to mankind if you like. I think it is an insane position to take, frankly.
