More and more people in Delaware are beginning say Anybody But Castle. However, this is actually a positive development for Republicans. Mike Castle, you will remember, is a forty-year career far Left liberal Republican member of congress. He voted for Cap and Trade, TARP, the auto and banking industry takeovers. More recently he co sponsored the infamous Disclose Act designed to muzzle the first amendment rights of his detractors, and he supported the Banking Reform Act which rewards the very banks who have so heavily supported him. He is consistently pro abortion and has earned an F- rating from the NRA. Castle has been compared to Charlie Crist.
However, tax hike Mike faces a strong conservative opponent in Delawares closed September, 14 primary. Up until now, Castles paid internet workers have really only been able to muster a single weak talking point, that Mike Castle calls himself a Republican, and they claim that he can win. Whereas they have asserted that his opponent Christine ODonnell cannot. A recent Rasmussen poll has put this claim to rest. The interesting thing about this poll is that, although it shows both Castle and ODonnell beating the Democrat, Chris Coons, it demonstrates a dramatic collapse in support for Castle. Just a few months ago Castle was beating Coons by over 20 points. It is hardly surprising that an anybody but Castle trend is beginning to appear. This year there is a strong anti incumbency sentiment throughout the country, and Delaware is no different. Mike Castle is the ultimate incumbent. This race is for the senate seat that Joe Biden vacated in order to assume the role of Vice Dunce. Delaware Republicans remember the close working relationship between Castle and Biden. After all they are both privileged members of the ruling establishment.
Deprived of their only argument, Castles online lurkers have begun to attack Ms. ODonnell for such horrendous misdeeds as finishing her 2008 campaign against Joe Biden in debt. They are now so very concerned about Ms. ODonnells personal finances. They, however, seem to be OK with the fact that Mike Castle has brought the entire nation to the brink of financial ruin. Everyones personal finances have been imperiled by the reckless actions of Mr. Castle.
For all of these reasons the career of Mike Castle is entering a death spiral. If Delaware Republicans do the right thing and overwhelmingly reject him on September, 14, we stand a strong chance of placing a solid conservative in Joe Bidens old senate seat. If Mike Castle somehow manages to buy the nomination, his opponent will have a field day. It will be only too easy for him to point out that Mike Castle has received massive financial support from the financial institutions that he voted to protect.
From your lips to God’s ears Bryan.
BTW Christine is a babe/
Think about this: DE is a very small state. in an off year election primary like this, occurring at a weird time (9/14), there will be only about a 10% turnout. Only Republicans can vote. Castle has got about 3 million corporate dollars to spend but what good will it do him? Only motivated Republicans will actually show up on 9/14. Motivated Republicans are motivated by one thing right now, humiliating this socialist RINO. Still, Christine needs to score a major endorsement in order to supercharge her fund raising. People like Palin and DeMint will want to see that she can raise funds before they will put their brand on her. So spread the word wherever you can, on FB etc. Get people to visit Christine2010 and encourage them to send a few bucks.
Yes...!! A couple more words along your same line:1. Throw out all old templates because 2010 is a brand new era; we no longer know what the template is. 2. By definition, a moderate can only generate “moderate” excitement. Castle’s about as exciting as a piece of wilted lettuce; 3. Moreover, how many Republicans are going to get psyched to go out and vote for this on election day: http://removerinos.com/CastleM.html
Christine O’Donnell is very photogenic. According to Swamp Yankee (commenting on Red State - http://www.redstate.com/eburke/2010/07/16/mike-castle-meet-charlie-crist/ ), her problems are the following:
* She defaulted on her mortgage, had her house repossessed.
* She has serious campaign debts and problems.
* She was sued by her alma mate for failing to pay student loans.
GOP: Please VET all candidates! We don’t need unknowns running who have toxic histories!
Despite the great liberties the Castle campaign has taken in scandalizing O’Donnell’s finances (& they’ve taken quite a few)—her money problems would be a resume enhancer for Obama’s cabinet. The fact is this...these issues sound so bad to you because the media makes them sound bad to you. The media drummed up “trooper-gate” on Sara Palin. They came up with the national-guard stories on George Bush. And it all sounded bad. We’re just going to have to accept the fact that the media will raise some kind of specter on ANY conservative candidate we field. And the media will ignore rape allegations against Clinton, sexual assault allegations against Gore, pedophilia issues with ACORN, and terrorist ties to Obama. This is what it means to be a conservative in 21st Century America, and we’d better not run from it. We’ve got to be up for the fight, because it’s not going away.
Ahh... what the hell... All those 'attributes' you listed make her a good fit for Congress.
Doesn't pay taxes; doesn't know how to balance her budget...
I can see calling her Senator right now...
While we’re on the subject of finances, the following Castle “financial problems” seem a lot worse than O’Donnell’s: http://politicallyfrank.wordpress.com/
These congress critters who run on lies which includes most of them should be jailed for lying about who they are and what they stand for.
She’s run into financial troubles. Gosh, the American people can’t relate to that. Too bad she’s not Mike Castle, and can’t get under-the-table deals to buy her out of those troubles. But it’s always nice to know who the fifth-columnist statists are around here, Fei.
If you think that’s bad, take a look at Castle’s disclosure report.

Collecting DE pension while collecting Congressional pay;
16 pages in investments; and ~ $1 million in Real Estate holdings. Quite a haul!
Spending the past forty years living off tax payers and:
- shredding The Constitution
- killing babies
- spending us into oblivion
- regulating us into a Marxist State
You would actually use O'Donnell's minor personal financial situation as an argument to support a man who has a lifetime record of destroying our country? Your bullet points are right off the hard drive of Castle's campaign office and they are laughable. Compare them with Castle's lifetime record of abuse. In other society's he would be executed for the damage he has done to this country. It is worth noting that her financial problems largely stem from her 2008 campaign. This is a paltry sum compared to say Hillary Clinton who came away over twenty million in debt from her campaign. Christine did not however, have Bill Clinton making $200,000 a speech in order to retire her debt. It is also worth noting that this tax audit has been filed by "tax cheat" Geithner's IRS. Christine challenged the current VP. No connection there. I applaud Christine for putting it all on the line. She is not part of the establishment. Castle has no money problems. He has got over 3 million in dirty corporate dollars from companies that he has favored with favorable legislation. Are you really serious?
Are the accusations true or not? Because, if true, she will have trouble getting the nomination. Not my business but can’t the Republican party find good people to run who DON’T have this kind of history?? In any state??
According to the following article, there’s very little to the allegations: http://www.thebulletin.us/articles/2010/07/13/top_stories/doc4c3b33d695b52118535376.txt . O’Donnell has hardly even bothered to address these allegations, they’re so souped up. She did send out one e-mail. HOWEVER, I truly hope we’re all prepared—any good conservative who ever runs for a high-profile office will have a specter looming over his or her campaign. Either something relatively small like the above, that’s blown up to look large—or something outright fabricated. We need to learn to expect that handicap in every election. What you’re saying (”we can find good people who don’t have this kind of history”) is perfectly reasonable, but please just keep in mind...history no longer matters to the media. If they don’t like the narrative, they’ll make one up. And put it on the cover of magazines with headlines like “Sex, Lies, Scandal” or run it as the first story on the 6:30 news. Just keep in mind the grand picture...generally speaking, the histories of most conservatives are relatively clean; but generally speaking, the histories of most conservatives are going to be portrayed as dirty, black sulfuric clouds hanging over the country. We’ve seen this for 30 years. We’ve got enough of a fight on our hands without falling for it ourselves. God bless...and I promise to get off my soapbox now.
