The cap is a mile below the surface of the water. Even if Katrina II blew right over the top of it there would be no effect whatsoever. Even a few hundred feet below the surface, the water would be perfectly calm no matter how much chaos was breaking out on the surface. This is why submarines are unaffected by storms.

I believe the maths is something like .5 x wavelength is the maximum depth at which water molecules would oscillate. This storm would have to churn up waves with a wavelength of 10,000 feet to even lightly disturb the bottom. THAT WOULD BE NUTS!
Ok, that makes me feel alot better. I suppose I was just remembering how the top hat was being tossed around, but obviously, it was attached to surface ships which were bing tossed.
