KansasGirl, Miss DiDi, or anyone else -—I’m away from my TV. Do you still have that bit recorded? If so, can you play it back one more time and give us a transcript of the five or six words immediately following “rule/rural”?

“Rural” is an adjective, while “rule” is a verb. The grammatical context will tell us whether Sherrod said “rule” or “rural”

Thanks.

I think it was on the Today show. I don’t have it recorded anymore. I saw the clip on FNC but apparently it was more than 2 hrs ago. I’m not sure she used the correct grammatical context which is what made it confusing. After referring to “rural” she also referred to “southern” which is what helped me figure it out. She said something about Obama just not understanding how “we rural” and she was talking about explaining to him how rural and southern people live.
