I often think of what Hitler would have done had he the scientific know-how and equipment we have today.

To me, the scariest "what if" with Hitler is "what if he hadn't been a raving Jew hater?"

Most of the physicists (as in "atomic") in 1930s Germany were Jewish. The foresighted ones decamped for the United States before the purges and the "final solution" got underway. They ended up in The Manhattan Project. What if Hitler hadn't run them off?

What if they had ended up in Hitler's nuclear weapons program, instead?
