Aides: White House trying to distance Obama from Sherrod controversy Posted: July 21st, 2010 01:24 PM ET
From CNN White House Correspondent Suzanne Malveaux
Washington (CNN) - White House aides said Wednesday they do not expect President Barack Obama to call Shirley Sherrod, the black former USDA employee who resigned after a video clip of her discussing a white farmer surfaced earlier this week.
Obama also likely will not show up to explain things at a White House briefing, as he did during the controversy surrounding the arrest of professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. last year.
"No more beer summits here," one aide said. After Gates' arrest, Obama, Gates and police Sgt. James Crowley met at the White House for beers.

People might wake up to the fact that he and his gang hate “whitey” and “cracker babies.”
This is so f****** funny on so many levels.
Very frankly, it does not take a lot to trip this guy up. The problem is that 44% of the people still think he is OK as president.
The (get) White(y) House can’t run from being a racist.
Obama hates black people.
This will only hurt 0 more politically. She already said he threw her under the bus. 0 is toast in 2012, unless there’s some kind of massive voter fraud. No way he can win another term without winning the independent vote. Without the inept dunces (politically impotent and disinterested folks who voted for him just because he wasn’t Bush) he would not have won in 2008.

I dont know, not having been there and not seeing all the facts, what role race played in that [Gates case]. But I think its fair to say, number one, any of us would be pretty angry; number two, that the Cambridge police acted stupidly in arresting somebody when there was already proof that they were in their own home; and, number three, what I think we know separate and apart from this incident is that theres a long history in this country of African-Americans and Latinos being stopped by law enforcement disproportionately. Thats just a fact.
Interesting that he would mention the beer summit and refer to the Gates arrest- yet another situation where Obama the great Harvard trained lawyer jumped to conclusions solely because of race without knowing any of the relevant facts of the case. There’s a word for that...
“Obama also likely will not show up to explain things at a White House briefing...”
Can anyone point to a situation where Mr. Skittles explained things to people, much less the WH press?
Look, Obama is both Black racist and America hater. He is actually a clone of his idols, Reverend Jeremiah Wright and Louis Farrakhan. However, he hates America, Blacks and Hispanics included!!! Who is the most hurt groups by the Obama regime, Blacks & Hispanics? High foreclosures, high unemployment, no jobs for college grads, catastrophic unemployment for black youths between 18-34 year olds!!! Yeh!!! That Obama, what a guy!!!! NOT!!!
Please let there be at least 10-20 levels of bureacracy between this incompetent, knee-jerk, nitwit Odumba$$ and the launch codes and key to the nuclear arsenal.
The Get Whitey House.
I love it. I absolutely love it!
Not original, but truthfully funny.
There’s no way to reconcile this situation above the fray of “racism”.
The situation will either be pushed aside, or “racism” will be momentarily redefined to excuse the, correctly or incorrectly, perceived racism Sherrod expressed in the FULL video.
I only fault Sherrod for her ridiculous political bent. I could care less if she uses racist language or not. She has an interesting story and I encourage those following the larger NAACP story to watch the full video of Sherrod addressing the NAACP meeting. It’s long, but I believe an important video to watch.
Breitbart’s return salvo to the NAACP was on target! Although the story has taken on new dimension, Andrew successfully neutralized the NAACP’s race baiting at least for today.
Conservatives should be able to open shackled minds with this story.
I read that. Two things struck me - the call, and she complied.
What a great way to sideline the main issue which is racism in the NAACP and NOT in the Tea Party. Instead make Sherrod the issue.
**What a great way to sideline the main issue which is racism in the NAACP and NOT in the Tea Party. Instead make Sherrod the issue.**
Exactly.
But, on the up side - Obama is the one who looks like the bozo in all this, no matter how hard the accomplice press spins it.
