Jesse Ventura has found two new reasons not to trust the government, and he's telling anybody in the halls of Congress who will listen.
The first bit of intrigue involves what he sees as the military's move to undermine his reality truTV series, "Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura," by not letting him film a stand-up in front of the Eternal Flame at the gravesite of John F. Kennedy.
The former Minnesota governor also claims the U.S. is fighting in Afghanistan to secretly secure a massive lithium deposit to make the world safe for cell phone, computer and electric car batteries.
"We're still buying that we're there to fight terrorism and the Taliban? Gimmie a break," Ventura said in a random encounter with a lifestyle journalist in a U.S. Capitol hallway a few days ago. "The whole war on terror is a red herring to get what they want. It's the lithium."

Jesse Ventura has never been right about anything in his life. You should have listened to him on his radio show. Anybody that did NEVER would have voted for him. He was 360 degrees on every issue depending on the day of the week and whether he had been drinking the night before.
Pretty hard to be wrong on an issue when you have been all over the map on it.
This moron really ought to do some research. A huge lithium deposit has been found in Canada. It is only about 250 miles from Detroit. Peparatory work is nearing completion, and mining should begin at the end of next year.
“And that reason can ONLY be evil capitalists.”
Because capitalists are really human anyway.
“Liberalism is a fatal mental disease”
you nailed it
Jesse seems to have lost it. . .well, lost what was left. He’d lost a lot of it some time ago.
Jesse Ventura= poster boy for village idiot.
Unless you're a Christian, or a conservative, or white, or have a job. And if you are all of them, you must be satan incarnate.
We used to have a homeless guy roaming the streets of Downtown Pittsburgh with a sandwich board claiming that he was a victim of CIA mind control experiments and that a secret government radio station controlled his mind. Also that the post office was censoring his mail (they claimed they just could not deliver it to him because he had no permanent address). He would hop a Greyhound to DC once a year to make his case in front of the Capitol.
I knew Jesse reminded me of someone.
Then, about six months after taking office, something happened to Jesse's brain.
My point exactly. Anybody that had ever heard his radio show knew he was all over the board on every subject depending on the day of the week, if his wife and he were fighting, if his kids were in trouble, or if he had been on a bender the night before.
To anybody that had paid attention t him, it was obvious his “conservative smaller state government and lower tax themes” was just a platform he expoused to win on. It was nothing he believed in because he believes in nothing except Jesse - not God, not Country, not Honesty, nothing.
I remember listening to him on topics he would give “first hand” examples of during my long commutes back then. When asked even days later to clarify what he said by callers, he would say “oh, I was just making up a story to keep the show interesting. Got ya, huh”....
I want to move to Minnesota and experience what it’s like to vote for the next unqualified lunatic to run for state office.
Suffered way too many pile drivers.
Norm Coleman has the distinction of losing to both Jesse Ventura and Al Franken.
This does not look good on a resume.
Norm was way too mushy for my taste.
