It’s the age old debate EV - get a very conservative nominee in the primary and lose the general or hope the conservative wins.

Case by case. IMO voters went for the R[ino] win.

Sometimes voters go conservative. Deal’s replacements for 9th Congressional District were all very conservative and will be unopposed - so voters went conservative.

But in Ga statewide, the demographics are not conducive to a conservative win. So statewide, many conservatives vote for someone they think can win.

In our state this makes sense - in some places I’m sure it doesn’t.

Conservatives are always told that the only sensible thing to do is to support people who oppose their principles.

Which of course is a form of insanity.

As long as conservatives will do it, though, the demand will continue to be made. Why wouldn’t it be?

In other words, nothing is going to change until conservatives are PRINCIPLED in fact, not just in word.

Nutritionally, they say you are what you eat.

Politically, you are who you endorse and vote for.

That’s just the cold hard truth.

That an argument for losing. Karen Handel didn't have a snowball's chance to make the runoff until Sarah Palin endorsed her -- rocketing the least conservative candidate ahead of much better candidates.

Karen Handel is the only GOP candidate who failed to gain the endorsement of Georgia Right to Life. Karen Handel denied giving money to Log Cabin Republicans -- until a copy of her dues check appeared. Is that not an ethics issue?

Sarah Palin failed to exercise due diligence before endorsing Karen Handel. Sarah Palin has proven that the has the courage to speak. But Sarah Palin has also proven that she lacks the wisdom to know when not to speak.
