The USDA's rural development director for Georgia says she was forced out of her federally appointed job after a "snippet" of a speech she gave in March appeared to show her admission to only half-heartedly aiding a struggling white farmer because of his race.
But in a phone interview from her home in Albany early Tuesday morning, Shirley Sherrod told the Atlanta-Journal Constitution that the two-minute, 38-second video posted online Monday by biggovernment.com and reported on by FoxNews.com and the AJC completely misconstrued the message she was trying to convey.
Sherrod, 62, insisted her statements in the video were not racist.
"For Fox to take a spin on this like they have done, and know it’s not the truth … it’s very upsetting," she said.

Sorry, Ms. Sherrod. What I saw and heard was Racism and for the USDA and the NAACP to have not responded until now (or rather until this went public) is very troubling and "very upsetting".
Racist bigot Ms. Sherrod sowed her own oats and she should and will reap her own harvest.....no need to blame others for your failure and blatant racism, kkthx. =.=
Next thing you know, she will be throwing the race card with the same velocity as a Nolan Ryan fastball.
If she was merely misconscrewed, then FOX should air the entire video of her remarks so we can see

This statement is as telling as the remarks in the video.
Her admission of blatant racism aside — ANYONE who belongs to an organization like NAASCP whose stated purpose is the advancement of a particular race — is a RACIST.
That’s the definition of the term “racist”, for goodness’ sake!
Mere membership in NAACP should be a direct disqualifier for government employment, in the same way that a member of a white supremecist group ought not be hired by the government.

What’s to “misconstrue”? She said what she said, and she was quite proud of herself for having ruined a white farmer.
Fox news is racist because they aired the video of her bragging that she screwed over a white farmer because he was white.
Funny, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution is the only news outlet in the world that couldn’t find a link to the video of her remarks. They are “trying to the get” a video of the entire speech. Since when has that ever been their practice before skewering somebody? She got caught. Cynthia Tucker must be peeing her pants.

Maybe they didn’t notice that the Farmer is now DEAD and so obviously there is NOBODY to corraborate her story.
She left out how she went to the farm and helped him milk the cows, feed the chickens, plow, cut the hay, and made him breakfast in bed while doing his wash.... seeing as how there is nobody around to challenge her version of this event.

With the advent of cell phones that can do audio and video, public figures must assume that they’ll be recorded at all times. What frustrates, and disgusts me is that the reply by this racist woman seems to be the new standard. Regardless of what was said, if it’s not flattering, it’s spin. Hard evidence, moments accurately captured are simply dismissed as if they never happened. And the State Controlled Media will never press a lib or minority when this happens.
You are so right. Imagine the outcry if there was an organization like the NAACP formed to advance the interests of white people.
I cannot conceive of any possible context in which her statement is NOT overtly racist.
Prime example of affirmative action.
Next time you’re waiting in line, (DMV, medical, McDonalds, etc.); observe the difference in service provided by a black customer service person to a black person compared to that provided to a white person.
I guess the MSM will finally cover this story. they finally have an angle that doesn’t give them indigestion.
Clearly, FOX News acted stupidly.
