The comparison to Reagan may give Obama cheer, but it is not really apt. For even in Reagan's darkest days when, according to Gallup, six out of 10 Americans reported that they did not like the job he was doing, an astounding six in 10 nevertheless said they liked the man himself. He was, of course, phenomenally charming, authentic and schooled at countless soundstages in appearing that way. Just as important, the public had faith in the consistency of his principles, agree or not. This was the Reagan Paradox and it helped lift his presidency.
No one is accusing Obama of being likable. He is not unlikable, but he lacks Reagan's (or Bill Clinton's) warmth. What's more, his career has been brief. He led no movement, was spokesman for no ideology and campaigned like a Nike sneaker -- change instead of swoosh. He seems distant. No Irish jokes from him. For the average voter, he casts no shadow.
Reagan, by contrast, had been around forever. He was not defined solely by gauzy campaign ads but by countless speeches, two contentious and highly controversial terms as California governor, and a previous race for the presidency. There was never a question about who Reagan was and what he stood for. Not so Obama. About all he shares with Reagan at this point are low ratings.

As far as I am concerned, BHO is not fit to even mention Ronald Reagan’s name.
Nothing charming about obama. He is one angry, nasty SOB.
lol the plastic president...not quite human
Obama: a criminal who managed to fool the American people into electing him president even though he was an enemy of the country
...too bad the Post didn’t bother to do some PUBLISHING before the primaries.....the ignorance angle won’t work because the average FReeper could tell you more about hopey changie two years ago......
Inquiring minds would like to know
bump for later.
"No one is accusing Obama of being likable. He is not unlikable, but he lacks Reagan's (or Bill Clinton's) warmth."This conjures up Obama's snotty response to Hillary Clinton about likability.
He wanted to be in the history books as the first ‘black’ president. He could care less if he wrecks the country, it’s all about him.
A socialist / communist wannabe that is trying very hard to destroy America from within. Any other questions?
Obuma is the anti-Lincoln, as he tries to reimpose slavery.
He’s the anti-Reagan, as he’s jacking up tax after tax on the American people.
And he’s the anti-American, as he tries to destroy everything that made America great.
The bad karma he’s building will create a backlash against him and his followers that won’t be pretty.
First, the opening comments: “On Sunday, both The Post and the New York Times assembled more than 20 savants and asked them, as the Times put it, “How Can Obama Rebound?”” Donna Brazile and the others are hardly ‘savants’, and why isn't the question ‘How can the nation rebound’?
There is plenty more in there that is irritating, including the closing comments: “Americans know Obama is smart. But we still don't know him.” No, we don't ‘know’ he is smart. We just know that he can read off a teleprompter and stumbles when having to speak off the cuff.
We know that he is an ideologue with a sophomoric world view who has surrounded himself with many radicals. We know that he attended a church headed by a racist pastor, and launched his political career in the home of a domestic radical/terrorist, and appointed an attorney general who runs a justice department that won't pursue voter intimidation cases against blacks. We know plenty. What we don't know is who he was in all the years before he launched his political career.
Not this corksucker again.
LLS
By ‘savants’ the MSM means those individuals
who corruptly practice dirty tricks, felonies,
and other RICO actions (obviously ignored by
the ultraracist DOJ because it is BOW).
I'm willing to bet his image can't be seen in a mirror.
The average FReeper also made up some of the 5% of people who strongly disapproved of this POS from the very beginning.
It's a shame everybody doesn't pay even half as much attention to political situations as we do.. if they did we would never have to worry about someone like the Kenyan in the first place.
