I did not presume to speak for airline pilots.

Ah, but you did presume to speak for airline pilots. You ascribed the motivation for refusing body scanners on the basis of a political statement. No, ALPA, USAPA, and other pilots' unions have advised to refuse on TECHNILOGICAL AND MEDICAL GROUNDS. You derisively deny that a pilots UNION is qualified to speak on the issue. Because it directly related to our own, and our passengers' saftey we have made it our business to be well-informed. Our PROFESSIONAL opinion is that they are not HEALTHY. We care more about our passengers' safety than any federal agency. Period.

What a pile of BS!!

Unlike a professional pilot, spoken as one without any authority or inside information.

Suspect. Its a word related to guess. I expect unions to take a partisan stand, its what they do. It does not mean that their position is correct. Happy flying.

Clearly not professional. Thanks for making my case.

If partisanship is at issue, then neither is your position necessarily correct. The objectivity of airline pilots in this regard is more assured than someone such as yourself. Happy scanning.

I see no difference between these scanners and having to go into a room with a stanger and strip naked....They are the greatest invasion of a person that has been invented yet..

On issues like this in aviation, the pilots' unions are the equivalent to the American Medical Association. Member's health and safety are the primary mission.

Great, then they already know that millimeter waves are less energetic than visible light. And they aren't demanding that pilots fly in the dark . . .

I agree. But the perverts, pornographers, and just simply those who don’t value human decency or modesty will keep plugging and plugging until they can degrade every good person in the country. They have been actively working to destroy everything normal for years, whichever way they can.

All those cliches about “never again,” yet it’s happening right in front of our eyes and with all the willing dupes just going right along with it.

Note, criminals, certain religions, and illegal aliens will more than likely continue to be exempt from the laws we mere citizens must abide by.

Captain Tzfat;

As a member of aviation management, I am not a big fan of some of the aviation unions. But when it comes to safety and technology, ALPA is tops.

Please tell me you realize around 15% of the U.S.A. Doctor's belong to the AMA.

And in fact....the AMA is more about MONEY making than about health and safety.

Captain Tzfat is exactly correct in his posts. And I’m a member of aviation management.

These threads are funny to me, because many of the TSA folks I’ve encountered are chewing their gum like a cow, looking at their watches, in the 2nd half of life, a teensy bit unathletic-looking or on the verge of nodding off. Passing through a scanner isn’t going to be like parading naked across the stage in Atlantic City.
