Benishek launches new Internet ad
Spot puts the focus on Jason Allens dealings with the SEIU
Republican Congressional candidate Dan Benishek launched a new ad on the Internet today, shining a light on opponent Jason Allens dealings with militant labor union SEIU.
On June 22, 2009, the SEIUs Detroit health care union gave one of Senator Allens political committees a contribution of $2,000.
Just six weeks later, Allen sponsored legislation that would have forcibly unionized more than 40,000 home health care workers, all of whom would become members of the SEIU without even having a vote on it.
SEIU is a very controversial union that spends heavily to elect liberal candidates, and uses its dues to fund even more controversial organizations like ACORN, which dissolved after hidden camera videos revealed ACORN employees counseling on how to provide housing to a prostitution ring.
Senator Allens sponsorship of a bill that would have involuntarily unionized more than 40,000 independent contractors is very troubling, said Dr. Dan Benishek. His bill would have been a giveaway of $6 million of state taxpayer money to one of the nations most militant unions. And the fact that the SEIU agreed with Senator Allens record in the state Senate enough to give him $2,000 tells Republicans in the First District everything they need to know about Senator Allens record, he said.
Dr. Dan Benishek is a surgeon from Iron River, Michigan and a Republican candidate for Congress in Michigans 1st Congressional District.

Was talking to a guy yesterday. Told me he was from the UP. I said Oh, the wealthy part of the state. He laughed his LP off.
Darnit. Now I’m gonna have to dig through my archives and find all my yooper jokes...a whole two or three of ‘em...
The primary is over and the Tea Party candidate is one vote ahead of the RINO SEIU supported candidate Jason Allen
