I have a friend who just got a divorce after 12 years in Arizona. She did not work the whole marriage, except for the few years before they had the kids. (3)

She get half time with the kids. $300 a month or so in child support. And for two years, she gets about the same in spousal maintenance. Her lawyer told her she was VERY lucky to get the spousal maintenance as she doesn't see that very often any more.

I suppose a lot depends on the state.

A lot depends on the lawyer. they love to push up their paycheck.....because the man usually pays for both lawyers...
