Chelsea herself didn't endure any attacks at all. Her parents kept that stuff from her. On the other hand I knew a young lady "way back when" who had the same problem ~ and when she grew up and had surgery her social life improved considerably.

Some of this stuff is pretty minor; other parts involve removing or moving bone.

Amazing what modern science can do.

The surgeries have definitely helped.

However, the phrase "silk purse," comes to mind.

FWIW, One of the most egregious, IMO, was when Rush on his TV show put up a picture of Sox, the White House cat, and then, adjacent to it, a close up picture of a teenage Chelsea with the caption “White House Dog”.

Pretty sleazy and tawdry when a grown man needles a teenage girl in that manner.

Some things just imprint themselves on your mind. That one did, back in 94 or so.

Building a chin on to her was a major procedure. The nose job, dental work, and cheek implants were secondary. The eye-lift is probable but uncertain. Good makeup could account for that improvement, but if the rest is being done it is likely this too was surgical. And for trim certainly someone finally taught her the best use of makeup and hair styling. Much the same way Biden suddenly grew a full head of hair in his 40s.
