Gibson says support is ‘overwhelming’

COLUMBIA COUNTY, NY - Chris Gibson, a fiscally conservative combat veteran who entered the race to represent New York’s 20th Congressional District in March, demonstrated his fundraising prowess with a posting of nearly $500,000 for the quarter. Roughly 90 percent of total contributions came from individuals, his campaign has announced. Gibson believes his ability to immediately begin out-raising his opponent, Scott Murphy, after a late entrance into the race shows the viability and strength of his message.

“We are very honored by the overwhelming amount of support we have received,” Gibson said..

“We have traveled all over the district and met with many business owners and their employees,” Gibson said. “We have listened carefully to what they have told us and overwhelmingly our citizens do not feel their voices are being heard in Washington.”

Gibson said citizens with whom he has met do not believe they are being properly represented in the US Congress.

“The citizens of our district want to remove the impediments to private sector growth and to stop the reckless spending in Washington,” he said.

Gibson said he is constantly asked to tell Congress that initiatives like Obamacare, cap and trade and card check remain widely unpopular in the district.

“Our citizens recognize that the strength of America can be found in small towns and communities, not in DC. They want policies that reinforce and empower people, families, and communities – not the bloated federal bureaucracy in Washington, DC and they see hope in our campaign, and that hope is reflected in our filing,”

You should have put a first name in parentheses.

I thought you were talking about MEL Gibson.

It's a common name. I am not interested in movie / entertainment people so this would never occur to me.

Sometimes when I search by title prior to posting and the search engine misses a prior post because of changes to title in the previous. That is why I leave the titles as is.
