A centrist Democratic senator on Thursday credited Republican Sen. Scott Brown (Mass.) for helping to ease partisanship in the Senate.
Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.) suggested that Brown has been a good negotiating partner for Democrats on some big-ticket legislative items.
Its been helped a little bit by Scott Brown, I know its heresy to say, he said in an interview on WHRV-FM radio.
Brown has been heavily courted by Democrats to vote for the financial regulatory reform conference report that awaits final approval from the Senate. As a member of the Senate Banking Committee, Warner helped draft key portions of the bill, enlisting the help of GOP Sen. Bob Corker (Tenn.)
Warner described himself as a bipartisan centrist radical and praised Brown for working across the aisle, saying that it has resulted in a little less pressure for Democrats in getting 60 votes for some legislation.
Before the July 4 recess, Democrats went back to conference to fix portions of the bill, in part to secure Browns vote. Sixty senators need to vote to end debate on the bill and move to a final vote. Senate Democrats only have 58 members with the absence of the late Sen. Robert Byrd (D-W.Va.) and need GOP support to pass the bill.
Brown was elected in part because of his opposition to the Democrats healthcare reform legislation. But he voted for the Senates version of the Wall Street bill in May, helping Democrats break a GOP filibuster.
The former Virginia governor, however, said there are still problems with partisanship in the Senate, such as on energy legislation and confirming Obama administration nominees.

Another words Scott Brown is a rat like us!
Of course - most of the rats are trying to bed him.
I didn’t think we elected people to ease Democrats partisan rancor.
Keep on trucklin', Senator.
“But he voted for the Senates version of the Wall Street bill in May, helping Democrats break a GOP filibuster.”
This makes at least twice he’s helped the Rats and their Socialist agenda.
Proven beyond a doubt that Brown is making sure it stays Kennedy’s seat.
For the democrats and the media being a "maverick" is a one way street.
I do not send my hard earned money to support a candidate that immediately sells out to the enemy as soon as he/she takes office.
I do not send them to “play along to get along”.
Which is exactly why I will do everything that I can to see that Scott Brown is defeated in his bid for re-election. He has blown it as far as I’m concerned.
Because I gave money to that RINO traitor Scott Brown, who was the deciding vote in allowing the federal government, run by Hussein, to TAKE OVER ANY BUSINESS IT DEEMS UNHEALTHY, I know I’ll get some snail mail in the next election cycle.
His chances of getting any money from me? 0%. He is an ass.
I intend to send my conservative Congressman a small pocketknife after the election, as a reminder of what we’re sending him to Washington for: “We’re sending you there to [figuratively] cut the b-—s off every ‘Rat you see. We are not sending you up there to get into a circle jerk with them, be it Barney Frank or anyone else. No compromises!”
This is as good as it gets from Massachusetts, grit your teeth for a while.
I am sending the RINO Brown an Email wishing him a enjoyable (but hopefully short) one and only term as a Senator!
At this point I could care less if a FAR, FAR, LEFT, Kennedy-Clone beats him as I will not be sending him a dime towards his re-election and though my contribution was not big, I'm guessing he stands about as much of a chance at winning another term with Taxachussetts only support as a snowball does of not melting here in VT on this very warm day.
And I bet I'm not the only one who will abstain from sending him anything at all and I believe the Tea Party will drop him like a hot potato!
As the ol' saw goes, "Better the Devil you know......" and he is turning into a real McCain, (pre-2010) Snowe/Collins, Voin-a-bitch, et al, first class RINO, A-hole!
Endorsements of Republicans by Democrats don’t count for anything to me. I’d rather have them praised by the public. The Democrats are the socialist party.
I think Mr. Brown has already forgotten how the Democrats delayed his seating for about two weeks, wasn’t it, showing the absolute weakness of McC of KY?
What the hell good is that?
I want more "YOU LIE!" moments.
Of course Brown is a ‘Rat!
