I can see a day when you are issued a card with this data that you have to use at the supermarket like they do at Safeway. If your BMI number is too high, you can’t buy fattening foods and some kind of siren goes off as you try to ring them up at the check-stand. It CAN happen. The technology is in place now.

Yes. I'm very interesting in seeing what will happen to the ~95% support Obama receives from blacks when it becomes evident that a very significant percentage of AA have a body mass index in the overweight or obese range. I would be surprised if Michele's BMI fell within accepted guidelines.

BMI is a flawed calculation that only contains squared, not cubed factors.

This means it is not taking into account the volume of a person's body, just their height.

A really tall person will be classified as obese even if they're a string bean.

A really short person will be classified as healthy even if they are shaped like a basketball.

All this means that men are going to be misclassified as obese at a far higher rate then women, which is good, because we always like to find new ways to punish men.

Men bad. Women good.
