The EU’s most senior figure has revealed disappointment with President Barack Obama’s presidency and has called for efforts to revive transatlantic relations.
Jose Manuel Barroso, the President of the European Commission, said the EU-US relationship was not ‘living up to its potential’ and was being weakened by disagreements on how to deal with the economic crisis.
Europe’s austerity strategy clashed with Mr Obama’s call to maintain fiscal stimulus at the G20 summit.
Mr Barroso cited climate change and trade reform as further reasons for the rift in an interview with The Times.

Socialism is face down all over the world and can’t find enough of other people’s money to get back up. Europe is just mad because they have been living off the American goodness in the shade, which Obowma is turning into universal disaster. Nothing left for Europe and those colonialists to live off.
well, I am sure that he will take credit for stopping the oil leak . . . technically, he could call that “fixing the ocean”, which could be considered keeping a campaign promise (finally) AND producing a miracle.
