NOW they are against fast food and processed foods - which the liberals originally PUSHED on the public.

I don't remember liberals pushing fast food on society back then. I remember people grabbing burgers on their way from work to some social activity, because it was quicker than whatever turnaround time they could manage in their own kitchens, and they wouldn't have a cleanup job waiting for them when they finally got home at night, dead beat from their long day working and socializing.

“I don’t remember liberals pushing fast food on society back then.”

There were news stories in the paper and on the TV about how great fast food was: how perfectly healthy it was, how there was nothing wrong with fast food, how it was just as good as home cooked meals, how there were many options available - not just hamburgers, etc...

It WAS pushed on the American public. Not to say that America didn’t soak it up, but it was definitely PUSHED as well.

Back in the day, they pushed the HFCS and the trans fats hard under the false assumption that trans-fats were healthier than natural saturated fat. Fathead Documentary details the history. The Center for Science in the Public Interest were at the forefront of the transfat push. They denied it now but it's in the historical record.

The post you’re responding to mentions prepared food as well as fast food. That’s what I remember most. More prepared meals became available in grocery stores so working women didn’t have to cook for their husbands and/or kids. It was marketed that way.
