Reid: I Wish President Obama Were More Confrontational with GOP

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., told the Las Vegas Sun's Jon Ralston Friday that there have been times in the past year and a half when he wished President Obama were more confrontational with Republicans.

"I think that he is on many occasions -- I shouldn't say on many occasions, on a few occasions -- I think he should have been more firm with those on the other side of the aisle," said Reid. "He is a person who doesn't like confrontation. He's a peacemaker. And sometimes I think you have to be a little more forceful. And sometimes I don't think he is enough with the Republicans."

More confrontational? He was talking smack about Republicans in a press conference in a foreign country.

He is a person who doesn't like confrontation. He's a peacemaker.

What a shovel load of obama.

If he got any more confrontational it’d be a felony.

He wants the opposition criminalized and rounded up. They’re making it difficult to “control the people” as John Dingell so thoughtfully put it.

I wish Obama were more confrontational with the GOP too. Everytime he tries to act “bad” he makes a fool of himself. His “finding whose ass to kick” routine didn’t go over well with anyone but his diehard followers. But when Obama tries to act like he’s in charge and wanting to push people around he just looks weaker.

Oh yeah, I really do want Obama to go off-script and confront the GOP.

Delusional Democrats!

They have two enemies:

a. The Republicans
b. The Constitution

Our Republican Senators are dancing for Obama, as fast as their pudgy feet will let them.
They know he is about to unleash a furious racial attack on them and they are weak, weaklings always sound guilty.

“I need you to go out and talk to your friends and talk to your neighbors. I want you to talk to them whether they are independent or whether they are Republican. I want you to argue with them and get in their face.“

“Plug the damn hole,” Obama told them.

“The Irritation of Obama” ABC News
April 02, 2008

Run in #1:
Outside the first shop, on the way in
Man: “Senator, can I have a quick picture with you?”
(Obama has his arm on the guys arm in a very nice way, like he does when he shakes a hand but refuses to take a picture and walks away)
Man: “It will take you two seconds. Don’t cram me, I’m not doing anything to anybody. Jesus.”

Run in #2:
After the first shop
Man: “Senator, can I get a picture with you?”
Obama: (slightly annoyed) “You are wearing me out brother.”
Man: “I got one with Hillary Clinton, and I got one with McCain. Come on Senator, that’s not right.”

Run in #3:
In the street
Man: “Senator, can I please, a quick one?”
Obama: (very annoyed) “No, you know what, no.”
Man: “Can I just say something to you real fast?”
Obama: “Yea, you can.”
Man: “I had one with Hillary Clinton and I had one with Senator McCain.”
Obama: “I am sure you do. Because when I was trying to talk to some kids –- and, I know, look...
Man: “No, my wife is a school teacher and she was there. She had to go back and that wasn’t right. What, won’t you just take a picture with me? I’m not asking you for a autograph; it’s for my family.
Obama: “Yeah, well, whatever. Just take it. I won’t be smiling. Because you’re wearing me out. . . No no, you’ve been really rude about it. Just take a shot.”

Obama and the man did not take a shot. The man was still arguing with the Senator when Secret Service stepped in (non confrontationally) to provide the denouement.

Secret Service: (putting a hand between Obama and the man) “That’s it.”
Man: “No, I’m good. All I want is a picture. That’s it.”

Harry Reid: ” I think that he is on many occasions — I shouldn't say on many occasions, on a few occasions — I think he should have been more firm with those on the other side of the aisle,” said Reid. “He is a person who doesn't like confrontation. He's a peacemaker. And sometimes I think you have to be a little more forceful. And sometimes I don't think he is enough with the Republicans....He's a very strong man. He's calm, he's cool, he's deliberate,” Reid responded. “But as I just said, I think sometimes he, I would like him to be more confrontational. He isn't, that's who he is. My saying this isn't gonna make him that way. I know who he is, and I understand him.

I just posted a similar point on another thread : They want to present Obama as : highly educated, smart, calm, wise, deep thinking, fair, above politics, all knowing, reflective...And this is just a sympathy ploy to liberals frustrated he didnt get Card Check and Cap and Trade (yet) : ”Obama was just too nice to fight. ” Bush apologists used a very similar defense for him : ”Liberals wanted him to do that. ” to defend things we hated.

But we have seen completely partision clips of him at liberal rallies saying things like “The Tea party protesters should thank me for cutting their taxes” or claiming Republicans have only political motivations but he Obama is above that and only seeks what is good for America, and yes, I know people here in MD that believe that.

You could combine both options into one by saying “People who disagree with Democrats” as both the Republicans and the Constitution disagree with them regularly!
