George was larger than life and whether you are a Yankee fan or not, you have to give the man his due.
The Bronx Zoo era was a classic and I loved every minute of it.
The last 15 years have been classic Yankees as well, winning five World Series.
Thank you George, the game will miss you.

In the early 70’s I dressed the hair of Mr. Steinbrenner's mother in Westlake, Ohio..A very gracious, lovely lady who was treated royally by her son, whom she adored..
we would share recipes and one day she gave me a recipe card for ‘butterscotch brownies'’and told me to keep it as her baking days were over!! I still have that card in my file.
She always wore a beautiful broach, that said ‘NEW YORK YANKEE'S ‘ all in diamonds and red rubies..so breathtaking, it certainly stood out...
wonderful memories of those hairdressing days...when it was a terrific occupation...
