This incident should be a teachable moment for CCW holders
- Don't flash your gun.
- Don't argue with store clerks as what CCW laws are.
- If you are foolish enough to argue: expect a confrontation with LEOS
- When you have that confrontation, particularly if they have guns drawn
- STOP
- SLOWLY,
- VERY SLOWLY
- RAISE YOUR HANDS
- WAIT FOR A DE-ESCALATION

2.Don’t argue with store clerks as what CCW laws are.
That sounds good but
....there was NO sign at the store entrance stating that CCW is not allowed in Costco.
....the state allows CCW, as do many states
.... this man was allowed to CCW
And lastly, there is an email running around claiming that Costco does NOT allow CCW in their stores. Costco has made themselves an island in terms of law, opaque to the public.
Costco employees seem to take this as their right to enforce anti-gun laws on their property, unto the point of murder.
THAT is the real problem, Costco is Anti-American, Anti-Gun and their policy contributed to this mans death.
CCW holders nationwide should now be aware that the mere act of carrying can result in their death.
Even ex-LEOs are in danger from this set of circumstances. If an anti-gun weasel sees your concealed piece, they can call 911 unbeknownst to you, and make up a story about belligerent gun-waving. When the Man arrives, the anti-gun weasel whispers in their ears about the crazed CCW guy, who may be unaware of being the center of attention. At this point, even former law enforcement will be in danger from LEOs with an attitude. The former LEO may have a better chance of extricating themselves undamaged from the situation, but they will still be in danger, percentage-wise, until they can either identify themselves or disarm themselves.
Former LEOs should NOT like the way this is going.
