Exactly, unfortunately these threads bring out the “cops are thugs and killers” comments.

The reality is that the cop’s actions appear to be nothing more than the result of poor tactical training and terrible judgment. I don’t believe that they would just shoot someone for possession of a concealed weapon, the guy could just as easily been an off duty cop for Gods sake.

He doesn't seem to have pointed the gun at anyone or displayed it in a threatening manner. If he was told to “drop the gun” then he WAS following police instruction, and in that case it would be the police's fault.
