There is way more to this story than what is being reported.

What kind of confrontation occurred between the victim and the store clerk ?

Did the store clerk call the police ?

Did the store manager call the police?

What was the store's SOP for calling the police ?

The police training is highly suspect.

You do not approach someone from
behind and tap him on the shoulder
and not expect a sudden reaction.

All that being said CCW training includes
how to react in a confrontation with police.

This is how I train NRA Personal Protection Instructors.

I agree with most of what you posted there. However my specific post to which you are responding is regarding your position on accidental exposure of your weapon when you have a permit.

Your response reminded me of the folks on the “red light camera” threads that say, “Well, if you didn’t break the law, you wouldn’t have to worry about red light cameras.” It is about real world scenarios - Human beings - not the “machine” response.
