Kudos to the reported for doing what sounds like a through job of interviewing witnesses. Regardless of what went on in the stores, it sounds like the cops screwed up big time by confronting this man when he was just going out with a crowd which was told to leave the store.
Had he actually been dangerous, there would have been a lot more collateral damage than just him. The store better have videotapes to support what they say was going on inside. It just doesn't add up.

You can count on it. I expect you could piece together every minute the guy was in the store from all the camera angles.
If there is no video available, that would be the most damning evidence against the cops - and Costco.
