There's nothing more dangerous than a heavily armed idiot who *thinks* he's an expert in all things gun related because he took a training course at the academy. His arrogance about his own ability with a firearm causes him to neglect basic principles of gun safety, thereby placing everyone in his vicinity in danger at practically all times he is carrying.

An armed civilian usually fears his own weapon because he knows what it is capable of so he carries it with the utmost care and caution. An arrogant cop incorrectly thinks he has mastered his weapon, so he wields it carelessly. Sadly, most cops exhibit this trait.
