Until Republicans are willing to play REAL hardball, until they are willing to go to the mat as many times as it takes, we will lose.
Look at Mitch McConnell. Does anyone believe that a Republican majority in the house and more seats in the senate will help him grow a pair to lead?
If McConnell had a spine he would be calling for Eric Holder’s resignation. If McConnell had a spine, the Republicans would be fighting the nomination of Kagan. If McConnell had a spine he’d be demanding hearings into why the Dutch skimmers were turned down by Obama.
Unfortunately, McConnell still believes in the US Senate as a club. No matter how Harry Reid, Chris Dodd, Carl Levin, Leaky Leahy, Barbara Boxer, Diane Feinstein, and the other Democrat Senators behave toward Republicans, McConnell will turn the other cheek.
Not much different in the House with Boehner. I question whether or not it really makes a difference if the Republicans win one or both houses of Congress in November. If they aren’t prepared to fight, it won’t matter.
