And prior to the Quakers involvement into the Abolitionist Movement, what was the religion of the slave holders?

Since the seventh century, AD, no group has surpassed Islam's practice of Slave Trade. Muslim's still practice legal slave trade on the African continent. Slavery is "illegal" but still common in Saudi Arabia.

Of course, since it can't be blamed on The United States or Christianity trumandogz really doesn't care.
