I'm waiting for those, too, after reading articles about prototypes that are being tested. Supposed to be on sale sometime this year? They "steal" energy from Wi-Fi networks that are abundant everywhere.
“How about wireless battery chargers ?”
Battery chargers do not have memory cards which hold one’s photos or other personal data - (at least not yet).
Just because it might be possible to create a new toy/convenience item, it doesn’t mean that it is wise to do so.
The purpose of wireless devices is to connect to other wireless devices which creates a network.
How many people will take the time to learn how to secure their networked devices from unwanted intrusion? Do they do it now with their cell phones, PDIs, i-pads, and laptops?
No, they rely on the weak security provided by standard protocols and manufacturers. Hackers quickly learn how to defeat those security measures.
Theft of personal data is only one side of the coin. The other side is the unwanted download of data, such as adware, porn, or other content from malicious hackers.
Paranoid? Perhaps, but life has taught me to be more cautious especially when extreme leftists are in power.
...just sayin’
