...an IQ of 162...
If she's so smart then this "genius" should've never been caught.

The CIA and other intelligence agencies regularly employ some very high IQ folks themselves.
The people on the cutting edge of the conflict of civilizations are all pretty bright ~ and both sides catch their fair share of them.

maybe it was not her fault that she was caught?

I believe, no proof just speculation, that she was involved in money laundering for real spies not espionage. I doubt she had an IQ of 162. She probably took one of those internet IQ test. btw, I'd hit it faster than Boris Yeltsin could down a bottle of stoli.

Raw "smarts" doesn't match years of training in the craft. I would rather have a surgeon with 20 years of experience and a 120 IQ than a 162 IQ intern. Similarly even brilliant rookie spies make mistakes that trained pros wouldn't. Since the FBI has been following this spy cell for 10 years, the mistake was made long ago (although I'm surprised they didn't notice they were being tapped, tracked and trailed during that time).

Getting caught as a Russian spy is no big deal in the West. You receive ‘Get Out of Jail’ cards immediately.

Beautiful women always draw attention. Perhaps only ugly women should apply to be spies, say someone like, umm, Janet Napolitano? Nobody would ever suspect Janet of being a spy because no one would show any interest.
