Amnesty Will Cost U.S. Taxpayers at Least $2.6 Trillion [Flashback to '07]
Heritage Foundation ^ | June, 2007 | Robert Rector

Posted on 07/10/2010 3:42:26 AM PDT by T.L.Sink

[Flashback] Robert Rector of Heritage discussed the most comprehensive, detailed and objective study of the illegal alien crisis ever done. His conclusion was that the social, economic and political consequences of the massive illegal invasion, if not curtailed, will result in the collapse of the whole American cultural infrastructure in about 20 years. His research caused a sensation. He appeared on C-Span, numerous media outlets, and talk radio shows. His study was quoted in the Senate when the issue of comprehensive immigration (a/k/a amnesty) was being debated. Most notewothy is the fact that NONE of the open-borders advocates nor the proponents of amnesty could factuallly repudiate his data. All the facts that he compiled to make his extrapolations are right now on-target and coming to fruition.

I agree. There’s a growing sentiment among constitutional law experts that the 14th Amendment was only intended for the recently emancipated slaves and not just anyone who happened to be born here by parents who entered illegally. By the way, I don’t agree with some of Pat Buchanan’s political views but he has a great chapter in his book on illegal immigration that’s well documented and that shows why granting citizenship to the children of illegals is clearly unconstitutional.

I love Palin’s metaphor because no she-bear ever defended her cubs like she defends our basic American liberties!

Exactly right - this is no theoretical or abstract issue. Our country is going down the tube and let’s hope most Americans wake up before it’s too late!

I think most Republicans are opposed to illegals and amnesty. There will always be a few RINOs. But the Democrats are a wholly owned subsidiary of the Hispanic lobby and the open-borders crowd. And, since they control the White House and Congress we clearly see what they’re giving us - socialism and amnesty!

One of the huge dirty secrets is that the Chinese are planning to stop investing in our Treasuries. They’re smart businessmen and they expect to get a return on their investment. They’re watching as America goes Chapter 11 and don’t intend to throw good money after the bad. That’s why Geithner was over there on his knees begging for money!

I agree with many of Pat Buchanan’s views. I think he’s truly “courageous” and speaks out against the “sacred cows” of both the right and the left. I put the courageous in quotes because the left call celebrities that they lionize for going along with the crowd courageous. Buchanan is going against the leftwing tide . . .

Give 20 million illegal aliens amnesty. They as new legal residents get to apply for family reunification. Say they have a small family and bring in spouse and two children. Now we have 80 million new “Americans”. Yes it will change our nation.

Certainly the finances of the invasion are not to be ignored but it will cost us way more than money can measure.

Absolutely! In the past most immigrants came with very little but only wanted the freedom and opportunity to succeed. And most of them did and at the same time made great contributions to America’s greatness. History proves that when any culture is swamped with the consumers of wealth rather than the creators of wealth, it’s the swan song.

Right - and even without amnesty we’ve already got a huge problem with “chain migration.”

But that is what illegal immigration's enablers are trying to accomplish.

I think Pat has some good views but, to me, he’s a bit too much of an isolationist and obsessed with “neocons.” And, by the way, a neocon may be his code word for a Jew. Pat has a regrettable past record for being anti-Semitic. I think that since he’s gone to MSNBC he’s spouting more of that far-Left network’s talking points.

That’s for sure. But in his original study Rector speaks very strongly about the decline in our quality of life as citizens.

Very good point. The 1986 Reagan amnesty was NEVER followed up by the collateral promise to secure our borders. “Those who don’t remember the past are condemned to relive it.” - Santayana

Right.

$2.6 TRILLION

Gee, a drop in the bucket.

Well, they’re succeeding as we slide into Third World status. I just wonder what will happen when the economic collapse affects them, too. As Margaret Thatcher famously said, “Socialism always fails becuse eventually it runs out of other people’s money.”

Still waiting on the CBO estimates for what this legislation is going to cost.........

According to house Democrats, the addition of 30 million new “citizens” will not only be “Deficit Neutral”, it will reduce the overall deficit by a Trillion Dollars over a 10 year period. All Americans and the economy will benefit from those 25 million new jobs created, as well as the sales and tax revenue these “new citizens” will generate. Unemployment will go below 0%.

It will also reduce carbon emissions by 70%, mainly because shovels, rakes and hoes, emit no pollution or C02 Greenhouse Gases. The additional sales of manual implements will prove to be a boom to the economy, as well as all the vehicle accessory sales, like “Pimp Your Ride” auto interiors, Low Rider vehicle mods, LED lighting packages and of course, guns and ammo sales.

America cannot go wrong in this regard and the resulting economic boom this will create will allow the Government to more than triple in size at no additional expense to the Tax Payers. In fact, there will soon be a dividend refund paid out to all American Citizens from all the profits and surplus revenues that these countless new “Deficit Neutral” agencies and programs will create! these are and should be, looked at as “investments” in our future, (VAT Taxes)

Hell, we'll all be equally RICH!
