I was planning to attend the DC event. I wonder if open carry by 1,000,000 could make them uneasy? I will gladly wear my 2nd Amendment pride!

Will we mark 8/28 as the day the country corrected it’s destructive course ?

Or will we mark it as the day the average citizen, remote in hand, looked to see who won dancing with the stars.

Open carry is not permitted in DC.

One of my colleagues happen to have pepper spray in her purse right before going on a tour of the Capitol building (prior to 911)Security in the crowd overheard her mention it, and they took it from her. Even that is banned in DC.

Bring your video camera to record any outburst from the New Black Panthers. I will promise you that media are going to be all over the place looking for Tea Party members who instigate violence.

Remember that open carry is likely not legal in D.C., and that both local and federal police would probably be more than happy to snatch away anyone they thought they could kidnap and prosecute. And if interfered with, they would have no hesitation to call for serious military backup.

“On July 28, 1932, U.S. Attorney General Mitchell ordered the Bonus Army veterans removed from all government property. Washington police met with resistance, shots were fired and two veterans were killed.

“President Hoover then ordered the army to clear out the veterans.

“The infantry and cavalry were supported by six tanks. The Bonus Army, their wives and children were driven out with fixed bayonets and adamsite gas, an arsenic-based vomiting agent, and their shelters and belongings burned.

“Two more of the veterans, and an unknown number of babies and children, died.”

There were little or no political repercussions for this heinous act.
