Hey I don’t know where you get your information from, but here’s what court testimony during the preliminary showing and trial shows.
1. Grant was NOT handcuffed, Mehserle was TRYING to handcuff him.
2. Grant had at least one or two hands free.
3. Grant was not just laying prone, he was actively struggling.
4. No pat down for weapons was done yet. Isn’t done until after a suspect is restrained.
5. Mehserle’s backup, Pirone was trying to control the Grant’s friend and Pirone was shouting profanities and racial slurs at Grant to get Grant to stop resisting.
6. Mehserle testified that he shot Grant when Grant put his right hand into his pant pocket.

So what you portray as a execution was no such thing.
Finally, I have don’t where you got the idea that Grant was shot in the head. At preliminary hearing and trial, evidence showed that Grant was shot in the back and the bullet richocet into his lung.

I know perhaps your somewhat emotionally invested in the Grant case but don’t try ornate the evidence and bolstering your argument.
Isn’t this what everyone expected? As soon as they got their booze on board, they were ready to party.

Actually, I have no emotional investment in it at all.
The only thing I care about is the fact that a young man was shot dead. The point remains - If the cop can’t tell the difference between a Taser and a firearm, he shouldn’t be carrying either one.
And no where did I say he “executed” him.
So could I be wrong? If it’s the video clip that I remember it to be, I recalled the cop standing over him and the gun discharging. So yes, I could very well be wrong, and probably am, based on what you just presented.
However - again - the kid’s dead. Was he being an asssh*le? Probably. Lots of people are. But they don’t deserve to be shot like that.
If the situation was so far out of hand, they should have called for backup immediately and waited for the others to get there.
Well first you’d have to find some honest people in DC with courage. I’m thinking that won’t happen anytime soon.

An obviously pregnant white woman was deliberately shot through the stomach by a black man (Indianopolis, I think). It was a vile, vicious hate crime.
Did we hear one single peep about this? Hell no.
