Canadians should expect more extreme weather like the current heat wave baking southern Ontario and Quebec in the future because of climate change, a leading climatology professor says.

"My strong opinion is that these kinds of extremes are something you would expect in a warming world, and expect to happen more frequently," Harry McCaughey, a professor of climatology at Queen's University, told CTV.ca.

Bull Obama.

Another Physics D student.

Couldn’t get into particle physics or string theory, so had to put up with a government grant from the libs.

It’s summer, it’s hot.
Whoda thunk it.

I remember when my daughter were 3 and 1. We had just moved into this house and had no AC. All three of us passed out in the lowest level. When I woke up, I thought they had died of heat stroke and checked for breathing. Then got pans of water and wiped them down. They were fine.

It was 104. Today it was 94. No big deal.

Well, that settles it.

Yep the climate wackos at it again, the heat will be gone by tomorrow afternoon with temps in the mid seventies Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Temps will be in the low eighties next week. Sounds like extremes to me.

Hot in Canada and cold in Australia. Must be Globull warming!

But then, I read years ago about Fort Yukon hitting 100 degrees hot in the summer. That was in the 1960s.

Well, it got up to 82 here today in Maine, which is pretty warm. But I notice that the historical record for this day is 96.

I imagine that most freepers will find something similar if they check their online weather reports.

It is cool here in Denver. I think I’ve turned on the air condition twice so far this year. So...is the cool weather here in Denver an example of global warming, too??

I wouldn’t want to be one of those idiots that confuse weather and climate, now would I.

"Strong opinion" is like "strong stench--" something competent adults who pretend to be scientists will avoid generating. Here in NE Ohio it has been in the low to mid 90's all week. Not a single record high, not even close. This moron needs to get a job.

Professor McCaughey needs to wake up. Didn’t recent data show that the “scientists” were liars and that global warming was gloBULL warming? He needs to be beaten with his dissertation (assuming he wrote one). What an academic, moonbat, asshat LOSER. He needs to stop breathing to stop emitting CO2. To top it off, he probably thinks he’s smart or something!!!!!

Dear Editor:
It’s about time someone had the courage and intestinal fortitude to point this phenomenon out. This has been going on for years and it will stay hot & maybe even get hotter for another couple months. It makes my dogs pant and withers my tomatos. Then it gets cooler, cold, then very cold.
Everyone complains about this topic but here’s someone actually writing about, and a professor no less.
Maybe he could do something about whatever it is that’s trapped under my sink. I have noticed that when my wife flips a light switch in the kitchen, whatever it is makes a terrible noise—it’s a terrible grinding, chewing racket. I think it might be a badger.
I wonder if this brave Harry McCaughey fellow might come and remove this animal from my house.
Sincerely,
A. Cranky Tumblindice.
PS And you kids—stay the hell off my lawn!

This is not hot. I remember the summer of 86 when it got to 110 in Virginia. We had a pet rabbit that perished in that heat wave.
