Not according to the jury. They passed on the 1st degree murder

The judge took 1st degree murder off the table. The most he could have been convicted of was second degree.

A jury also passed on OJ. Juries can and do get it wrong, you know.

The prosecutor got the verdict he and the government wanted.

In almost all cases, a prosecutor can manipulate the trial to get the verdict he wants when the defendant is another government employee. You’ve heard the saying that a prosecutor can indict a ham sandwich? That same prosecutor can almost always not get an indictment if that is the result he wants.
