DENVER - Republican Party chairman Michael Steele on Thursday made his first public appearance since his controversial comments about the conflict in Afghanistan being a "war of Obama's choosing."
Steele spoke at the opening of a new GOP campaign office in the Denver suburb of Greenwood Village Thursday morning - what the party has dubbed its 'Victory Headquarters." He praised grassroots efforts to promote Republican candidates in the upcoming election season and vowed to reverse GOP losses in Colorado over the past two election cycles.
"(When) we win here and take back the governorship and that U.S. Senate seat...pick up those congressional seats...the world will be watching," Steele, flanked by state GOP chairman Dick Wadhams and Rep. Michael Coffman, told the crowd of supporters and media.

and your point issssss.....waiting....
Good. It is about time that a Republican leader spoke out against the Democrat War in Afghanistan.
... “I’m not going anywhere” ...
And neither is the GOP!
He has no shame, no pride, just anything to keep raking in those bucks even though he’s doing a lousy job and knows it.
Maybe you could get a protest going. Osama, Kucinich, Cindy Sheehan, and Cynthia McKinney are available.
I agree that Steele needs to go.
I do not agree that pushing Steele out is, in any way, a priority right now.
Ignore Steele and get to work.
The Chairman DOES NOT MATTER!
We all have work to do!
Gibbs????
There are two responses to this: 1. Correct - you aren't going anywhere. 2. More's the pity.
I hope that means he bought a house in Colorado and intends resign so he can stay there.
I am with Rush, The GOP needs to focus on real issues. Without a peep the are about to confirm a communist as a Supreme Court Justice.
Steele is a LOSER. I like the idea of Sarah Palin as Chairman of the RNC. Think of the fundraising power! Plus it lets us get a real candidate/nominee against Hussein Obama. If its Palin, the left wing media will do a Dan Quayle on her.
RNC chairman is a cushy job. Of course Michael isn’t going to quit, no matter how bad he is at it.
