Pueblo Politics: Goddard calls on Grijalva to back down on boycott

In the latest rift to open up among Democrats over the immigration issue, Attorney General Terry Goddard is asking Congressman Raúl Grijalva to withdraw his support for an economic boycott.

In a letter to the Congressman, who called for a limited boycott to put pressure on state leaders to retract the new immigration law, the Democratic gubernatorial candidate noted unemployment still hovers at 9.6 percent.

“You have told the media that you would like to change minds here in Arizona through a boycott,” Goddard wrote in the letter. “From what I have seen, the Governor and the Legislature don't seem to care about Arizona's economic life blood. A boycott would only hurt Arizona.”

He implored Grijalva to join with him “in calling on businesses across America to give Arizona a chance, and help us to rebuild our economy instead of engaging in hurtful boycotts.”

Grijalva, who was in town for an event this morning to draw more local artists to the state to serve as social change agents, countered that it was unfair to single him out as the reason organizations have opted out of Arizona.

“By indicating I’m the sole person responsible, kind of leaves the legislative leadership and the governor off the hook,” he said, adding those opposed to the legislation would have sought other venues anyway. And, he added, he's not the one who's hurting tourism by claiming "everyone coming here is a dope fiend or that this state is festering with crime and violence" — a reference to recent assertions by Gov. Jan Brewer that most illegal immigrants are running drugs.

Saying he understands “Terry’s concern about the economic well-being of the state,” Grijalva said there is room for carving out boycotts to target groups that have supported the immigration policy, while rewarding cities, such as Tucson, that have publicly stated their opposition.

Cong Grijalva and Ohaha.

REFERENCE US Rep. Steve King to Laura Ingraham: " I’m wondering if we look at the map of Arizona Congressman Grijalva’s congressional district, if we haven’t already ceded that component of Arizona to Mexico, judging by the voice that comes out of Grijalva. Grijalva’s advocating for Mexico rather than the United States and against the rule of law, which is one of the central pillars of American exceptionalism.

Grijalva believes Arizona's new law, which requires law enforcement officials to demand papers from anyone they suspect is in the country illegally, is racist and does little more than “propagate the idea separate but equal treatment under the law can be codified,” Grijalva said.

Arizona congressman Raul Grijalva is a former member of (MECHA) according to a 1997 article in the Arizona Daily Wildcat. Did voters know that Grijalva is or was involved with an anti-American seditionist organization? Will he denounce MEChA now that he's headed to Washington? Will he represen ( MEChA viewpoints (rabidly anti-American) or the interests of the American people when he gets there? -- Grijalva also isn't happy about "civilian patrols" whose members are seeking to deter illegal immigration, and is in agreement with (meddlesome Mexicans ) that an investigation is needed into activities of Americans (not illegal aliens and their cheerleaders). Oh, they’re not fighting. They are trying to convince everyone that it’s the Legislature and Gov Brewer who is responsible for anything happening. Goddard and Grijalva are working together like a pair of sock puppets reading a script.

AMNESTY EQUALS INSTANT DEMOCRATS Ohaha's only motive is to exchange amnesty and government freebies for illegal votes. Americans DEMAND provisions to secure our elections and protect our tax dollars from latino fraud. Elected officials and candidates who rig elections should be subject to prosecution if they knowingly organized illegals with fraudulent identities, in order to gain public office.

========================================

How did Congressman Raul Grijalva (D-Arizona) get elected?

DID CANDIDATES KNOWINGLY ORGANIZE NON-CITIZENS TO FRAUDULENTLY VOTE FOR THEM?

DID CANDIDATES COLLUDE WITH NON-CITIZENS WITH FAKE IDENTITIES TO RIG ELECTIONS ?

DID CANDIDATES EXCHANGE GOVERNMENT FAVORS FOR FRAUDULENT VOTES?

Illegal Jose Madrigal, the Washington state rapist, had some 30 identities.

EACH FAKE IDENTITY COLLECTS US GOVT FREEEBIES,
--- AND AS EVERY DESPERATE DEMOCRAT KNOWS ---
EACH FAKE IDENTITY VOTES AND VOTES AND VOTES

========================================

The Obama admin continues to tolerate this ntl-security nightmare of illegals using multiple identities for fear of offending the Mexican government, the National Council of La Raza, and other immigrant advocates....all of whom are providing Democrat voters to endangered Dems. This outrage is burdening taxpayers and polluting our election system----b/c these criminals adopt multiple fraudulent identities.

Evidence shows illegals establish several identities with phony SS nos and fake documents (which these "poor immigrants" buy from document brokers for several thousand dollars). Illegals also get their anchor babies SS nos. They then use the SS nos to establish fake identities.

The names of these and other elected officials who use their office to rig elections should be given to the FBI, together with the following information:

2 Texans accused of planning to sell counterfeit IDs

NORTH BERGEN -- (AP) 07/21/06---The Pelcastre brothers were a walking threat to national security -- expert document forgers who, for a few thousand dollars, could give anyone a new identity, authorities said Thursday. When police stumbled across the pair, the men had turned a Tonnelle Avenue hotel room into a business office and were readying a massive cache of fake Social Security cards for delivery to a local identity broker, authorities said.

The brothers, Angel, 31, and Jorge, 34, both of Dallas, were a "one-stop shop" for a myriad of government documents, including birth certificates, Social Security cards, driver's licenses for any state in the country , including passports and resident alien cards, said state police Capt. Al Della Fave. "Can you imagine if a terrorist were able to get their hands on this stuff?" Della Fave said. "They'd have free passage throughout the country."

A task force including state troopers and officers from both the Bergen and Hudson county prosecutors' offices happened upon two cars bearing Texas plates in the parking lot of the hotel Wednesday morning. Authorities wouldn't identify the hotel by name for fear it could hinder cooperation from other hotels in future investigations or spark retribution.

The Corporate Outreach Task Force, formerly the Hotel Motel Drug Interdiction Task Force, regularly runs checks on motor vehicles in area motels. Members of the task force began watching the cars, a Chevrolet Impala and a Pontiac Firebird, and followed the brothers to an office supply store in a nearby shopping center, where the men purchased computer supplies, said state police Sgt. Stephen Jones.

Officers then followed the brothers to a self-storage facility in Secaucus, where they loaded several boxes from a storage unit into one of the cars, Jones said. One of the men stood lookout, which heightened police suspicion, he said. Authorities approached the men when they returned to the hotel and questioned them separately, Jones said. The brothers consented to a search of their cars, hotel room and the storage facility, he said.

Police recovered laminating sheets with built-in security features, pages of blank documents waiting for fake names and information, finished documents, computers and software to create the fake IDs, Jones said.

All told, the haul was worth about $500,000 on the street, Della Fave said. Police also recovered $6,000 in cash, which was the first payment from a fake document broker for a shipment of 500 Social Security cards, Della Fave said.

"They were aggressively selling to brokers," he said. "This isn't like selling driver's licenses to individuals. These were multiple layers of high-level documents."

The brothers were being held without bail Thursday at the Hudson County Jail on charges of possessing fraudulent documents and conspiracy to sell fraudulent documents. Federal charges are also pending against them, said state police Detective Sgt. Cesar Huaman, a member of the task force.

As FReeper raybbr postulated: "the sense of entititlement to tear down our government while enjoying US prosperity, the principles of democracy, our legislative process, and our thriving society is an affront to every real American."
