It's tough to cut military spending in a world where you are the de facto defender of liberty and freedom. The best way to get in a position to cut spending on our military would be to do the things that deter those who might consider taking us on in an armed conflict. IMHO, the starting place for that is Iran. Replace that regime that is interested more in taking good care of its citizen and less with imposing their religion on the entire world and you would have a much easier time of getting a handle on our military budget.

Because, after all, we did such a bang-up job of that in Iraq and Afghanistan.

“It’s tough to cut military spending in a world where you are the de facto defender of liberty and freedom.”

Do you really think they’re even trying? I don’t.

Proper expenditures towards our defense I have no problem with. But the military is, after all, part of the gvt.

I bet the bloat and waste is astounding. Heck, talk to some military folks.
