Rules hinder ability to inform public on oil spill (Government Cover Up?)

Pledges of “transparency” in the government’s handling of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico are as murky as the oil itself.

Despite a promise a month ago from Thad Allen, the incident commander overseeing the BP oil spill response, that “media will have uninhibited access anywhere we’re doing operations,” that’s not how the situation is playing out.

The Coast Guard has issued rules that prohibit anyone — including reporters and photographers — from getting within 65 feet of any response vessel or boom deployed on land or water.

Allen doesn’t see that as a violation of his “uninhibited access” promise. Rather, he says it’s “not unusual at all” for safety and security zones to be established.

Restrictions also have been imposed that have limited the ability to shoot pictures from the air — also under a claim of “safety.”

From an Illinois paper which endorsed Obama in '08.

Notice the very muted outrage from the press proving once again how corrupt the MSM in this Country is.

Just imagine what the MSM's reaction would have been if such a policy had been implemented during Katrina?

How about a Boston Tea Party sort of Gathering of All Patriots at the Gulf? There are miles and miles of affected coastline, and there are millions of patriots who could come from all over the US. Would they arrest us ALL?
