0bamao ensuring union loyalty with our TARP money.
Last year my company cut salaries by as much as 30% for some people. We're getting no raises this year. That's the real world - no raises or salary cuts.
My husband is a NERES (non-union represented) state employee up here in MI. I can’t remember the last time he had a raise; last year his pay was reduced by 10% all summer and our idiotic governor and legislature raised the income tax. It’s not a complaint, since so many people have lost their jobs we feel blessed.
The unionized state employees got their raise. The aforementioned idiots wouldn’t muster the backbone to vote to rescind it.
But 14%????? That’s insane. Suicidal. Deranged!
1.4 is too good....
give 25% salary cuts like we got hit with where i work so the company could make it thru the hard period....
1.4%!!! That would be 3x what our company has been giving for the last three years now. Most people are taking pay cuts, benefits cuts and hour cuts. This is insane!
Last year everyone in my company had to take a 5% pay CUT. This year they have gradually given us the percentage back, we are getting the last 2% back next pay day. I have no idea when we will actually get raises again. BTW, this pay cut was so that people wouldn’t have to be laid off. (there were some but it would have been more) It makes me sick that these damn government union workers get what ever the hell they want, and sponge off the backs of hard working private citizens who actually make sacrifices. a—holes.
Raise? Most of us are lucky to still have a job!
The title of the story is misleading...no surprise. It made it seem like they just got a 14 percent raise which is not true. They will get a raise over two years. But you are right 1.4 each year (x2) would be more in line with what they should receive.
I live in Illinois and I haven’t gotten a raise in 4 years, but my taxes keep going up.
