I’m honored to be on a thread with so many folks who’ve gotten it right their entire lives.
If he is sincere good for him. Now, following confession comes repentence and restitution. I don’t know his heart so I will assume his sincerity unless he proves me wrong. Sarah is a Christian woman so if she sees he’s honestly remoseful and repentent I’d bet she forgives him. Avoiding cameras and reporters would be the first sign he really means it.
I’m looking on a more positive side - that he’s not going to be a problem nor a useful media weapon for campaign 2012 for whatever reasons....
Wow, I can’t believe the comments in this thread. The kid makes promising signs of actually maturing, and nothing but venom from the FReepers in this thread. Damn, but I’m glad that I didn’t have cameras pointed at me when I was young. The pity is that I’m sure that most of the more venomous posters are likewise just as lucky that cameras weren’t pointed at them as well. This kid’s greatest sin is that his sins were public.

You read incorrectly....Bristol and Levi said that they are working to raise their child together BUT ARE NOT GETTING BACK TOGETHER...Bristol said that she was staying single in a interview and Levi’s own lawyer confirmed that they are NOT getting back together but working to raise the child together.
It could be he is trying to manipulate Bristol into dropping the child custody case. He does owe Bristol $13,000 in back child support and about $1,700 a month now.
To be honest I don’t trust him one bit.
What Levi and his family did was sign on with the left to destroy the Palin’s and embarrass Bristol. He knew what he was doing and made great fun of it.
He is largly responsible for much of the pain that family went through.
The Palin’s should publically say that they accept his apology, but that it should have been made a long time ago. Now pay your support and go away.
Quite odd now that Palin may be running for president that he has become so remorseful. Don’t trust him.
I say this as a persom who has lived through a very similar situation. I don’t frown on the Palin’s for what Bristol got herself into. They have handled it well.
But nothing good can come from letting Levi back in at this time.

Still, as suggested in the post above, Levi may be feeling some pangs of regret as he gets older, with respect to his son, and Bristol may have indeed made the apologies a condition of greater access. I can see that happening, and I can see also her still wanting Tripp's real father around as a positive thing.
But, before he can re-earn the the Palins' trust, he'll need to publicly disown every one of his recent liberal associates, get his GED, and then probably join the military to make something out of himself so that he can properly support Bristol and Tripp.

Actions speak louder than words. The idiot Levi should have shut up and not stuck himself out into the media again, if ANY of his words were true.
He got in front of the cameras on purpose to do the bidding of the Palin haters. He took his sins public, reveled in it and shoved it in every-ones face!

He's a grown man with a son. Sarah doesn't have to take him in. Just be cordial with the repentant father of her grandson.
I am inferring that from her statement in the article.
I don’t see him regaining their trust, just getting out of the way by removing himself as a useful tool for the media that hates her.
His silence will suffice. Remember, he lost in court to Bristol. He’s lost every battle he’s waged, save for the media trashing of the Palin’s and Sarah in particular of course. If this his his media swan song, then he exits on a good note and both he and Sarah win, while the sorry media and her detractors LOSE.
Levi belongs in Alaska as a private citizen with nothing more to say to the media for the rest of his life.
