I don’t think he voted...because the vote was meaningless.

Disregard, I read your link. It was a useless measure in any event, just for show.

Pretend they are stars, not thumbs down.

They are thumbs down because it’s *FAIL* blog.

Vote 1 thumbs-down, not 5 thumbs-down.

As others have pointed out this was a meaningless vote
PLUS the GOP offered 3 different alternatives to extend unemployment by cutting in other areas
Dems refused and left for the week end
this is a BS poll

Many decent people are being screwed by no fault of their own and have little savings to live on.

99 weeks is pretty generous of the American people, don't you think?

“99 weeks is pretty generous of the American people, don't you think? “

Oh, it is but the problem is, employers are NOT hiring!

The issue is not “generosity”. It is NO JOBS!

New Jersey is a basket case. When you have been out of work and there is NO JOBS, and I am NOT exaggerating, and unemployment ends, WHAT is one supposed to do? Keep in mind there are NO JOBS and EMPLOYERS are NOT HIRING? Savinigs only take you so far. Again, I know of many seriously struggling, moving in with relatives when their house goes into foreclosure and it is through no fault of their own.

I am talking about middle and upper management people that had the rug pulled out from under them. Employers are not interested in these folks. There is no need for them when there are LESS employees.

I know stringing them along on unemployment is not ideal. But when there is NO WORK, what are they supposed to live on till we can get jobs back in the private sector? It is DEAD out there.

Trust me, accepting unemployment is an ego and self esteem killer. You are NOT making money when accepting the LITTLE money you get from the government compared to what you are used to EARNING. There is NO financial incentive to stay on unemployment.

What we really need is private sector stimulus through tax cutting etc. to put people back to work! Then we wouldn't be put in this situation. People that are decent, and there are MANY of them, want JOBS rather than collect unemployment. Their is no dignity or honor in collecting that.

“Awful” means this is not funny, and doesn’t deserve to be posted. “Excellent” means I think this is truly funny and should be seen by everyone.

One more thing, I hear that when you have NO INCOME other than unemployment, you are still TAXED on your unemployment. Yes, with NO INCOME, you are still TAXED on that. Of course you can wait a few months and hopefully get some kind of a refund when you have ZERO income coming in. Again, there is no incentive to be on unemployment.

Yes, there are some out there, UNION people, that play the game of collecting part of the year and not collecting the otter part of the year - I am not defending these parasites. I am defending decent people who got caught in a layoff that are performers and were unlucky.

We desperately need jobs n the private sector but every time you turn around, Obama places NO INCENTIVE to have that happen. This last health care Bill passed was another job killer int eh private sector. When Bush tax cuts end - that will be another employer job killer. There is NO INCENTIVE to HIRE MORE PEOPLE when things are in flux and EMPLOYERS really can't plan well. You KNOW employers will be screwed again - they know it too and waiting for the other shoes to drop.

Years ago when Hoekstra was running for office, he was 100 percent opposed to allowing China into the WTO...

When little George became President, George pushed inclusion of China into the WTO and Hoekstra flip-flopped 180 degrees and all of a sudden loved sending American jobs to China...I swore I'd never vote for him again...And I won't...

Hoekstra STILL encourages Michigan manufacturers to take their once American jobs to China...

Apparently Hoekstra hates the American middle class just as Obama does...

I truly feel bad for those people.

I am praying that comes NOVEMBER people get out there and VOTE to STOP this. It’s a heart wrenching situation and goes against my grain to support unemployment but those that make up the unemployment picture are not the dead beats we have grown to dispise.

If you would like to be added or dropped from the Michigan ping list, please freepmail me.

So he missed an absolutely pointless vote--POINTLESS. I have less regard for those who took part in the shenanigans. Failblog? More like blog fail, IMO.

Read the comments on Failblog about this.
They are pretty split between Conservatives, people who don’t like politics on Failblog and those who see it as a Dem plant.

I wouldn’t worry about it.

as long as he fails in the primaries too..

sorry, i agree it was a pointless vote, but it was a vote. and MI needs to see every bit of record we can on every one of these rinos running for gov. so we can figure out who’s the least of the evils.
