I never made it out to Redwood Acres, but when I worked in TV in Eureka, I remember well that we regularly covered the races there, and I remember Rusty Olson being fairly dominant.
We did get some practice in today, and I was able to get my son to run his line better by promising him a fudgesicle if he did so. Never underestimate the effectiveness of bribery!
Didn’t the 5 almost win the championship last year?
I'm repeating something I read on one of the NASCAR threads about a "Hendrick conspiracy." It does seem to fit, which is why I remembered it.
I do wish Jr. was running better. He's a local boy, as they say, and, as you say, were disappointed every single week. Except last week!
Plus I'm tired of the 48. They're a great team with an amazing record and can win every race, but these days I'm for anybody but Jimmie.
Exactly! Almost
Only if they cry when they win...not that there’s anything wrong with that...
Hell I’d drive for you if you promised me a vanilla Fresh Freeze or a Rocky Road cone from BonBoniere...
Didn’t see your name among the drivers mentioned.
Good week to skip a race this week only because we will be moving son’s belongings/hanging blinds, etc. the latter part of the week into the weekend. Time intensive but that will be it for that endeavor. The following week will be the missus “birthday week” and I’ll have to keep her busy to try to avoid the empty nest syndrome.
I agree about 48 - they are darn good - but, the fans are tired of him winning everything. I thing Gordon is tired of it too, he doesn’t seem to be able to beat him.
My wife’s not. :)
Speaking of salmon - large filet will be barbecued tonight.
Chilly this morning, 32 degrees.
Great to see Reutimann and MWR win and win so convincingly!
The racing is the best it's been since the COT and I'm looking forward to the new front ends.
Weatherman just said the heat index on the island was 96, still, at 10:15 tonight.
Ahhh, warmth. :)
You can keep that 32.
And you can, with all due respect, keep you heat index of 96!
It’s 58 degrees at 9:08PM, electric blanket is on. :)
The 00 win is proof positive that anyone can win IF you put the right equipment under them.
I hate the hot weather and the scorpions!
I really do not like cold weather and the heat is good for business. ;)
Not that many scorpions here. Sort of weird because daughter is 20 miles to the south and has quite a few. More of a specific location I think. They have five acres of what used to be a hay field.
Writing from the depths of hell--where the heat index yesterday was 108! Expect more today. They are cautioning everyone to stay inside in air conditioning. Did it get this hot when we were kids? At least I know I won't go to hell--cause I think it's hot enough here to qualify for serving my time!
So S.T., it sounds like your salvation is assured..
Tell her to wander south a couple of hundred miles if she really wants to see “warm”.
Several years ago they acclimated troops going to Iraq by shipping them to south Texas for a month or so. :)
