Smooth bore 12 ga.? You got some rifled slugs? Or if any of you experts would like to chime in, what round travels farthest for 12 ga?.. By the way, 12 ga. is better than nothing! Also, let the enemy get close so they can watch their friends drop, up close and personal. The thing that would be difficult to overcome is fire. Ya know that in some of our American cities, entire cities will be torched to the ground in massive firestorms. Okay so where do we all meet to fight the bad guys??? Arizona? Utah?..

” If prepping, make sure you are ready for nuclear war (Fallout shelters)”

No thanks. I’d rather be among the first casualties of a nuclear exchange.

I think a few joints at the right time as I sit here at ground zero would do it. No kidding. I’ve thought about this for over 60 years.

I was really disappointed in The Road. There is NO way to prepare for the situation that happens in that movie. There was really NO way ANYWHERE to grow ANYTHING? Why? ALL soil was bad? Hydroponics and grow lights maybe? I just don't get it. The whole movie had no point, because the BEST case scenario was that they were NOT going to be eaten by cannibals and die of starvation over a long period of time instead. So, it's a choice between a massive heart attack and terminal cancer. I'm as much of a fighter as they come, but if those are my choices, I'm eating the bullet instead.

Yep. Needs repeating.

“Or is it a blanket policy”

Who knows. There has not been an increase in bank robbery in the area. The bank has been there for 20 years without bullet proof glass.

Those all you can eat Chinese buffets are loaded with Chi Com illegals and are usually woned by Chicom army officers. The food is garbage too. Filled with loads of fillers like guar and who knows what.

After fars as the economy and worse than the Depression - sadly this may be far worse than the 1930s. The idiots only care about meaningless NCAA ball games and other inane TV propaganda.

“Banks are overrated, and people are far less dependent on them than you might think. There are lots of alternatives to banks.”

Name one hundred successfull (and legal) businesses with over a one hundred employees each which doesn’t use credit to run their daily operations and then I will believe that credit isn’t inportant in today’s economy.

Must be some sort of Metric System math...

I hated the book. Read all of that disgusting stuff, for what??

I refused to go see the movie. And you are right, you are left with NO explaination of what had happened. Why there was NO food growing, NO ray of sunshine anywhere. Very depressing.

There very good a preventing bank robberies. They have been around just about as long as banks have. I have worked in this area.

I am going to have to get something that reaches out further than my 12ga.

May I recommend one of these?

Rifled slugs are good for 7o yards maybe, but that's not what shotguns are good for.

They are for close in game and defense, and in a wartime situation you use a short barrel and I personally like triple B or BB magnums. Any long shot you use a rifle.

Long range center-fire rifle to pick em off comin up the road, maybe an AK or AR for when they hit the front yard (really big front yard), a good 12ga porch gun for closer work and a good .45acp for the really close ones. Maybe I need to work in a flame-thrower there somewhere.

Not to get into a complete dialog of The Road, but I think it bares the truth of what American society has become; dependent and unable to fend for themselves. How could you grow when countless are at your door trying to take of what is yours? 1000's of rounds or not, you will still have to sleep at some point. Which means a collective community (NO, not communism) that can fend off hordes of malcontents. I think the bigger piece of The Road is how quickly "society" breaks down.

Nine Meals is my guesstimation.

“In 2008 and 2009, former Secretary of Treasury Henry Paulson said that we were “on the brink,” in fact, after he left his position with Treasury, he wrote a book with this very title.”

I believe the only “brink” was the one the investment houses were on because of their risky investments. The tax paying public would not have reacted well to being told we were going to give a trillion of your tax dollars to cover the poor investments of these immediately transformed “banks.”

This brinkmanship was necessary to fool the masses in order that the retirement lifestyle of certain well connected political decision makers would not have been negatively impacted by suffering the loss of opportunity for post elected-office employment in the must-be-rescued “private” sector.

How to Make Napalm

Napalm is a highly flammable military grade explosive. Its name is derived from the first letters of its thickeners naphthenic and palmitic acids. Napalm is highly dangerous. It burns at about 800-1200˚C and is not easily extinguishable by water as its long hydrocarbons chains resist water. Despite all this napalm can be easily made at home. In this article we will learn how Napalm is made.

Method 1

For this you will need:

•Styrofoam, any form of Styrofoam will do, cups, plates etc. as long as they aren’t covered in plastic or anything else. If they are you will need to strip it off.
•Gasoline or petrol (same thing)
•A metal container

Pour all the gasoline/petrol into the metal container. Add some Styrofoam to this and keep stirring till dissolved. Keep repeating the process till you can’t add any more Styrofoam. You should now have sticky looking syrup.

WARNING: Do not touch Napalm, its dangerous.

That’s it. Your homemade napalm is ready for use. Make sure you never touch napalm directly or let it come in contact with skin. Once, prepared napalm can be stored for a really, really long time.

Method 2 There is another easy way to create napalm at home. For this method you will need:

•Soap. Detergents won’t work
•Gasoline or petrol
•A stove
•A double boiler

Shave the soap and add it to the gasoline in 1:1 ratio. Heat some water in the lower compartment of the double boiler and then take it off the gas. Pour the gasoline and soap shaving mixture into the top compartment and keep stirring till the soap is completely dissolved. Never keep the gasoline directly on the stove, unless you plan to blow up your house. The resulting fluid will be thick and vicious Napalm.

Napalm is the most effective fire bomb in the world. It was used extensively in the Vietnam War by US soldiers, the bombing of Japan in World War II by the US, by UN in the Korea conflict etc. Napalm was mostly used to blow enemy cover, snuff out bunkers and to completely demoralize the enemy.

Be extremely careful where you use napalm, make sure to keep yourself and everybody around you out of harms way. Napalm usually causes severe 3rd degree burns as it sticks to the skin. You could experience 2nd degree burns if the quantity of napalm is really low. 2nd degree burn causes unbearably excruciating pain unlike 3rd degree burns where pain cannot be felt because napalm burns out the nerve endings. Keep safe distance from burning napalm as the combustion produces large amounts of Carbon Monoxide and Carbon Dioxide, which if inhaled can cause a person to pass out or in extreme cases die. Never use it on another human being or animal, it’s not only extremely cruel but also illegal.
