The Wobblies, described in the first edition supplement Acute Paranoia. The Computer heard about this society and sent troubleshooters to spy on it. The problem was that it did not exist, and when the Troubleshooters returned with no information they were quickly executed for insubordination. A dozen or so teams later, one set of Troubleshooters got wise and founded the society solely so they could spy on it. The other societies sent spies to infiltrate this new group, and the end result is a group composed entirely of spies for other groups.

Not to dis the main point of the article but...it’s little more than standard hysterical rhetoric. Novel premise about “never so bad since the 1300s” but there is no meaningful background and nothing supporting the overall hysteronics. Screaming about “worst economic crash evar! Rice! guns! Flee!” doesn’t help.
OTOH, no one in the government is doing anything to avoid an economic collapse. In fact, they are breaking their backs to make it happen. The Obammunist and his minions are doing everything to cause an economic/societal collapse, so they can replace our Republic with a Muslim/Communist society.
So preparations are not only a good idea, they're vital. Food, water, medical supplies, arms and ammo, reloading supplies, books and manuals, etc. Get in shape and be "fit to fight". Prepare to shelter and care for your family, too. Most of all, if it isn't already, get your relationship with God Almighty straightened out, 'cause in the end, it will be Him that will save us.
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
"If Robert Prechter is right, one market analyst said, weve basically got to go to the mountains with a gun and some soup cans.
We’ve been in cash since the Dow was at 11,500. I’m not going back into the market for a while.
Do you own a rain barrel?
No.
I live in The Rainest City In The US. (population of 100,00 or greater)
I have a view of two lakes from my present position. I sometimes daydream looking out this window as the Osprey feed.
I am surrounded by water...water will not be a problem.
My question is?
Where are all these people/families going with there bug out backs from the cities if this comes to pass?
Apparently everyone will be 'Heading For The Hills".
That's why my rural neighbors and I have decided to make a stand right here in our neighborhood. We have a lot of resources here, why leave them?
There will be a lot of starving and dead people up there in the 'hills', IMO.
I think they will make there way down country roads with in a few days maybe a week - most will only have a few days of stuff with them while getting through to remote areas before the wild - pretty much ware I am.
Out to people that live in the country that have food supplies/generators/fuel and that have prepared for hard times just because. Its the way of life out where we live...
Then probably no Law enforcement, well there really isn’t right now - just me if things go bad these days.
Then what? I can give a few things but I think most these folks are going to be “very desperate” on their way trying to get some where.
Could be bad times... I hope not
Dang, just noticed that MRE’s are going for about $45/case. This is insane.
What are they normally?
After Hurricane Rita, and my preparations for the 2006 hurricane season, I and bought a couple of cases for I think was $26/ea. Luckily got to use them for Hurricane Ike.
I can understand that. We will be doing the same thing
Those are some good points, but a lot of modern civilization depends on law and order and respect for property rights.
Actually from the way they act, the Leftist imply that they would LIKE IT if we returned to ‘simpler time’ without those evil SUV’s ( or SUR’s for that matter), Air conditioning, Indoor plumbing, etc.
The far-left national socialists would like to return to the days when people lived off the land, blah .. blah
(Not them, of course, they are the Elite they deserve to live better than the rest of us great unwashed)
But let's be realistic, people in past lived that way because they didn't know any better even in the event that most of civilization were to be wiped out, some people would remember how to build engines and generators and other vestiges of civilization.
The big crux of the matter would be whether there would be the law and order infrastructure for people to rebuild.
That will be the linchpin in what happens.
The movie was an excellent adaptation of the book, and just as scary..
“I’ll try to make it over with a pizza...”
Loaded, with Italian hot sausage and lots of peppers.
I won’t have to worry about the heartburn afterwards!
