What picture of a refinery can you take from the road that would require a “representative of the Joint Terrorism Task Force who determined that the photographer’s actions did not pose a threat to public safety.”?

Simple fact: Since 9/11, you are NOT ALLOWED to tale photos of refineries. I transport propane out of them daily, and if I get caught taking any pics, I lose my ability to enter them ever again.

This is nothing but proper security. No ML!

If you want to get access to any refinery, or any port in the US today, you need a TWIC card (Terminal Worker’s Identification Credential). That’s THE LAW.

Concerning photos at your link:

Ever hear of a telephoto lens (used at ground level)? Or, do you want to risk the possibility of a horrific “accidental” (w/sarcasm) explosion.

I am glad the photographer was detained and questioned.
