NASA Administrator Charles Bolden said in a recent interview that his "foremost" mission as the head of America's space exploration agency is to improve relations with the Muslim world.

Though international diplomacy would seem well outside NASA's orbit, Bolden said in an interview with Al Jazeera that strengthening those ties was among the top tasks President Obama assigned him. He said better interaction with the Muslim world would ultimately advance space travel.

People are forever asking why NASA cannot do things like it did in the 60s, when they went from nothing to planetary probes and the Moon landings in less than 10 years. Funding is not the whole answer. It is obvious enough today that equivalent funding does not produce anything like the kind of results we saw in the 60s.

We dare not speak the real answer.

Somehow I remember the United States being a serious country when I was a child. That’s just terribly hard to picture any more.

>To give Muslim terrorist nations access to advance technology that will be used against us is treason.<

.
You’re looking waaaaaaay too far in the future — keep your thinking short-time.

Based on our recent experiences with Islam in our Armed Forces, how would you like to have one of our nuclear-armed submarines or fighter jets commanded by an American muslim?

LOL!

The only way to improve Muslim self-esteem would be to destroy the Jews who have repeatedly kicked their barbarian asses despite being outnumbered 200 to 1.

Obama know this of course.

this is all a version of the “they’re brown/black/yellow so they must be SSSOOOOOO much more spiritual than us” that appears in television fiction. Usually candles are involved and ceremonies performed before the astonished eyes of the godless white characters.

and, yes, i’m talking sg1 and sg atlantis here!

I have an idea for better relations with the Muslim world. First help the Muslims in America find a good Muslim nation to move to and find a home to live in.

Then, prohibit any Muslims from immigrating to this country.

Problem solved - nobody hurt.

actually, my experience in the ferociously corrupt world of Big Pharma has shown me that nasa’s problem is corporate progressive dementia. all large corporations eventually break down, as do all large nations. it’s part of the circle of life.

nasa lost its way when it surrendered its soul to whomever needed a space shot to advance corporate profits. today, there is no soviet union to battle, but there is always money, money, and money...with much of it coming from overseas...

You're so thoughtful! ;^) I find that truth, that everything we think is new and scary is in fact old-hat, comforting in an odd way. It helps put things into perspective.

I’ve been, quite literally, a lifelong NASA fan/supporter.

This moron has to go. Let him work in some local f**king mosque.

and, don’t forget, the nothing-new rule also provides solutions. solutions to every problem in this country have already been discovered and, sometimes, even implemented.

the problems are old, the solutions are old

nothing changes
