As the nation prepares to celebrate Independence Day with parades and barbecues, Americas veterans face a new tax on prosthetic limbs and other vital medical devices.
The health care overhaul passed by Congress and signed into law by President Obama earlier this year contains a new tax on medical devices such as prosthetic limbs, pacemakers, and wheelchairs. This tax, which its proponents claim will raise $20 billion over the next ten years, contains no exemption for the nations 22 million veterans. In fact, Senate Democrats specifically refused to exempt veterans from the tax.

Isn’t it grand having the baby boomer generation in political office?
Heavy sarcasm.
Surely this won’t stand?
If a Wounder warrior gets anything from the VA it is all paid for.
If 0dumbo actually ok’s the gov’t to issue some kind of tax document that forces the vet to pay tax on any device 0dumbo will have sunk to a new low even for that lyin POS
Congress wouldn’t let this stand if any POl ever wants to be elected again
This is sickening
One of these days the Democrats and the President will tax our military on the cost of flying them home to the United States. Or how about taxing them on the use of their equipment, even ammo they use.
Obama needs to be impeached, tried for treason and sent to Gitmo to rot with his goat-humping muslim buddies. He’ll fit right in.
This is disgusting. I always knew democrats hated the brave men and women who put themselves in harm’s way and do their duty, but this is too much.
Call me when this nightmare is over.
I have an intense dislike for these cowards and was surprised to see that Lieberman was on the list.
Sheesh...vets get them for free already. This story is so stupid.
I think the point is that even though free, the DEVICE IS TAXED. So a $1,000 wheel chair will be taxed.
I could be wrong though.
So; With one govt agency paying a tax to another govt agency, this results in a net increase in govt money.HOW??
You missed the point. Nevermind. Have a nice day.
The point I was making was that any tax on prosthetic devices that are paid for with tax dollars, will not result in a net gain for the tax coffers. It's like you taking money from one pocket, paying some bureaucrat to administer it and putting it in another pocket. There won't be a gain, in fact there will be a net loss. Bureaucrats have to eat, too.
They’re doing more than spitting on the troops, they’re spitting on about 6-10 million disabled people that already can’t afford the devices as it is.
The O admin is F’n up by the numbers!
